Justin Long plays Portia Doubleday's (Sheeni) older brother in this film. In real life he dated her older sister Kaitlin Doubleday. The two also played a couple in the movie Waiting... (2005).

During the filming in Michigan, Justin Long was the victim of a drugging and abduction. In an episode of the podcast Armchair Expert, Long revealed that after an evening of drinking, he left with several locals who offered him marijuana that he believed was actually phencyclidine (PCP). After getting him severely intoxicated, they took him to various locations against his will and refused to return him to his hotel. They discussed filming him while high on hard drugs and selling the footage to celebrity gossip outlets. Long eventually escaped by leaping from the moving vehicle, damaging the nerve in his leg in the process.

Part of this movie was filmed in an actual trailer park in Wixom, Michigan.

Justin Long was in Superbad (2007) with Michael Cera. Unfortunately, his scene was cut.
