know what? in Malaysia all of my friend like this story.. i'm also.. even the cast not really gifted but they seem try harder to act.. So, the criticize will not be acceptable for me.. We should support them to improve their acting.. Another thing is the story was pretty good.. Even we change the actor or the actress, the story background still good.. I want to say that it excellent.. I watch many Indonesia movies and film but Eiffle, I'm in Love is one of my favorite..I collect many type of movie include cine tron and films..Anyway, I watch this film frequently..I can finalizes that this film give good effect to audience.. So, I want to promote this film to all and to decline any bad comments to this film.
This movie has really wasted two hours or so of my life, i was 17 when i accidentally watched this movie (the original one, not the extended (hell no!)version)and it was a GREAT insult to me that people categorized this as teenage movie.
The script sucks big time and i cant stop wondering why the hell people and by people i mean those Indian-Indonesian producers wasted great deal of money in making this oh-ever-so-shallow plot, (why? so they can fly over to Paris to buy some souvenirs in the meantime taking some few of totally unimportant scenes of a pair of gorgeous teenage idols with zilch acting skills). The story was incredibly shallow, not worth the effort to be made a movie
Yea, the acting SUCKS big time, the gorgeous girl with ever so cute and spoiled act, feeling sorry for the strict rules her parents gave her (well, yeah with those tank tops and tight skimpy outfits, how can they let you roam free on malls (and yet in the story they let you do it anyway, totally unsynchronized and unrealistic) especially in Indonesia?) and the gorgeous bod of the male actor who had his fame soared to the sky thanks to his previous appearance in Tusuk Jelangkung (in which, yes, thank god, he didn't have that many of lines so we can really love him for his bod, instead we love to hate him and his acting skill now)
This movie comes out purely from a teenybopper's imagination (no surprise since the story was based on a teen(ybopper) flick novel written by a 15 y.o. author.
and yes of course it had a really good income and fame (and awards, by teenybopper's choice of course), considering how average (teenybopper) Indonesian moviegoers like this kind of shallow entertainment with no moral message or anything.
Embarrassing

Im a man(30+) and its hard for me to watched a romantic movie, much less movie targeted at teens, including this. This movie would not be in Oscar or anything like that. It too cliché, the acting is not the best in the world. So what? A movie is to entertain. And I expected to be entertain.
Nevertheless, I watched this movie multiple times and I enjoyed it every time. I really don't understand the hate. This movie is way better than Ada apa dengan cinta. Maybe I ranked this movie highly, but this movie is my Kuch Kuch Hota Hai indonesian version. Both Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and this movie doesn't rank very high in IMDb, but it is sure a hit.

Eiffel, I'm In Love (EIIL) proves that teenager is the massive cinema audiences. Thanks to them EIIL became another major hit after the mega success of Ada Apa Dengan Cinta?
The plot is novel as a teen flick could be, but that's we could expect form the writer that write the story when she's in her fifteen. But, because of that, I think EIILL is too childish to me. Everything goes for the teen, to satisfy them, but for me EIIL is a plain entertainer with nothing valuable to offer. I had watched a lot of teen flick, but I still have this feeling that the movies are sincere and not so manipulative, so the more mature audiences still can enjoy them.
Except Shandy Aulia whose really know how to act as a spoil girl, Samuel Rizal as the leading should learn more how to act decently. Another cast has a fair amount being good and dull. A surprise cameo comes form Titi Kamal (from Ada Apa Dengan Cinta fame) and her brief performance is still deliver a strong result. She definitely knows how to act.
The pace is slow but growing fast when the set become locate in Paris. Actually, as a whole, EIIL have a nice production design. And that makes this still entertaining to watch. The soundtrack from Melly is still spellbinding and works well.
I think EIIL is trying so hard to be cute and forgetting that a movie should be structuralized well and noticing the importance of essence of the movie as a story telling. I mean, I absolutely got nothing to take home away form this. I'm sure EIIL is still entertaining but is in a blank way, if you know what I mean.
Well, I guess it's just not for my age or maybe I'm to hip for this?

It can be called Indonesian 'Titanic' because of the record of audiences it had... Some source said that this movie been watched by 10 million Indonesian people, with most of them are young people... In that situation, it looks like that all of Indonesian people get a plague of this movie... And even I'm watched this movie about 2-3 months after this movie been released... I still amazed with the number of audiences they still have... But the movie itself, it really really light... Just a usual drama comedy of young people with a little set of Paris and a help from Melly and Anto Hoed for the music, overall it just an ordinary movie with a nice soundtrack... Wonder why all young Indonesian people been crazy about this movie so badly that time???
