Welcome to this week’s review of Nxt, right here on Nerdly. Let’s get straight into it and see what went down in this Ecw-themed episode that was filmed at the legendary 2300 Arena…
Match #1: Hardcore Match – Jaida Parker def. Lola Vice The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Jaida Parker sent a message to all of Nxt by going to the extreme against Lola Vice in a Hardcore Match. The two Superstars launched an all-out assault on each other with a host of weapons, culminating in Parker nailing a Teardrop off a ladder through another ladder, but it wasn’t enough to put Vice away. Vice rallied and smashed a trashcan onto Parker, beating her with precision strikes as well as a kendo stick before hitting a hip attack. The former Mma star locked in a tight guillotine, but Parker nailed her with a brick before hitting a...

Welcome to this week’s review of Nxt, right here on Nerdly. This is week two of the Halloween Havoc special(s), so let’s get straight into it and see what went down in this episode…
Match #1: Tables, Ladders, and Scares Match – The Creed Brothers def. Angel Garza & Humberto Carrillo The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Julius and Brutus Creed put on a show for the Nxt Universe as they defeated Angel Garza & Humberto Carrillo in a wacky and wild Tables, Ladders, and Scares Match. All four competitors wore the wounds of war all over their bodies, but in the end a Super Brutus Ball through two tables was enough to give The Creeds the victory.
My Score: 4 out of 5 Match #2: Tiffany Stratton vs. Fallon Henley The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Before their match could start, Tiffany Stratton blindsided Fallon Henley.

Eddie Guerrero had been pitching a feud with Rey Mysterio to WWE creative/management practically since the masked marvel arrived in WWE in the summer of 2002, a few short months after Eddie’s own return to the promotion following a very public firing and a battle with substance abuse.
The new and improved Eddie, both inside the ring and out, knew that he and Rey could produce magic if they were only given the chance to do so. The two men were constants in the cruiserweight division in WCW and stole countless PPVs and episodes of Nitro with their unique blend of Mexican, American and Japanese wrestling styles.
Who could forget their five-star Mask versus Title match at Halloween Havoc 1997, or Eddie’s quest to get Rey to join the Luchador World Order (lWo) a year later? Whenever Rey and Eddie were in the same ring at the same time,...

Rey Mysterio is turning 40 years old this year and has been seen wrestling on American television for the past 20 years. He burst onto the scene in Ecw, then WCW snatched him up in his early 20s. Rey was so good that he was considered one of the best workers alive when he was just 22 years old when he had that epic match with Eddie Guerrero at WCW’s Halloween Havoc 1997. Few wrestlers have ever been that good at such a young age.
When WCW died in 2001, Mysterio wasn’t one of their stars that was brought into WWE right away. It probably would have been good for WWE if he was, but due to contract reasons (a lot of WCW talents still got paid) he wasn’t brought into WWE until the summer of 2002.

As the youngest son of the legendary wrestling promoter Gory Guerrero, Eddie Guerrero was born to be a professional wrestler. One of the most versatile performers you are ever likely to see, Eddie spent nearly two decades traveling the globe putting on classic matches in a range of promotions including Aaa, Ecw, WCW and WWE.
Here is a list of seven of these classic matches. Don’t expect this rundown to feature Eddie’s most famous matches however; we all know about his revered WWE Championship victory against Brock Lesnar, his Halloween Havoc spectacular against Rey Mysterio and those matches that have been featured multiple times on WWE documentaries and Blu-Ray releases.
This list is designed to document the classics that you may have forgotten about, never seen or those that simply haven’t got the recognition they deserved. A bit of backstory leading up to the match...

It would appear as though Rey Mysterio going to remain an employee of World Wrestling Entertainment for the foreseeable future. There had been reports in recent months that with Mysterio’s contract expiring later this year he might not re-sign with WWE due to lack of interest on their part and also because he might go work in Mexico.
A new report from PWInsider suggests that Mysterio isn’t going anywhere. The 39-year-old former WWE and World Champion has been added to the WWE Studios’ Flintstones movie that will be released next year around WrestleMania 31, so that’s a big reason why he’ll be signing a contract extension soon.
In a recent interview with SuperLuchas.net, Mysterio mentioned his desire to stay in WWE for the rest of his career: “I have nothing against the Aaa but I do not plan to go there,...

Injuries are a tough thing to deal with in professional wrestling. It’s one of those things where you might go your whole career without anything significant and then one nagging injury leads to others down the road. In the case of Rey Mysterio, knee injuries have really slowed him down to the point that he’s become an irrelevant performer in WWE even though he was a top guy for the majority of his career.
In addition to his health concerns, there are some doubts about his future in WWE as well.
A report from PWInsider states that there has been a lot of discussion within WWE about Rey Mysterio’s future with the company over the last few days. Mysterio’s deal expires in 3 months and since he’s no longer a top guy, the belief among some is that he is preparing to finish up his last...
