Manmadhudu (2002) :
Brief Review -
A typical formulaic rom-com done right with additional drama. K. Vijaya Bhaskar's "Nuvvu Naaku Nachchav" (2001) with Venkatesha was simply adorable, and it's a timeless family entertainer. With Manmadhudu, I was expecting a similar kind of film, but it was a bit lower than expected. I am not saying that it's a bad film; it's just that it isn't as great as NNN. It's a formulaic rom-com done right for mainstream cinema lovers, with an additional dose of drama. Firstly, who is that duffer who wrote that Manmadhudu is inspired by the Hollywood flick, "What Women Want" (2000)? Did he really see these two films or just write it for fun, and how the hell Wikipedia hasn't erased it yet? Let me make it clear that Manmadhudu has nothing to do with What Women Want. The film is about Abhiram, a mysogynist who has a lot of girls in his office and is forced to travel with his new lady boss, Harika. Harika learns about his past and why he hates girls/women so much, and she begins to feel affection for him. Abhiram, too, starts getting attracted to her during the Paris trip. His sweet dreams are shattered soon after learning that Harika is already engaged to be married soon. Will these two dare to accept their love and come together? There are two love stories in the film, and both begin without any proper theories. That's modern love, I guess. It's a predictable story for anyone who has seen at least 50 rom-coms from old Hollywood, Bollywood, and Tollywood. There is nothing new. The comedy and songs work just fine enough to keep you hooked, and the performances are fairly okay. Bhaskar's direction offers everything that you expect from a contemporary rom-com, and that's quite engaging too. Overall, it's a pretty good watch for couples and families, but 8+ user ratings at IMDb? I'll not bet on that, even for free.

Incontrovertibly one of the best movies in Telugu industry in complete sense - entertainment, music, lyrics and whatnot. Lyrics are simply the best i have heard in a decade. Hatsoff to Sirivennela. Nag's comedy breathes class while Sonali's grace adds quality. No comments about Anshu - good show by a budding artiste. Comedy from Brahmanandam, T.Bharani and others is also praiseworthy. Cinematography is not bad, apt to the storyline. Choreograpy...you cant expect better from Nag. Movie scores well at editing, screenplay and direction. Music by Devisri is simply superb, probably @ his pinnacle. Three Cheers to my FAVOURITE Sonail, Nag, and the movie. Highly recommended to watch. A family entertainer.
Though it came in the early 2000s, this film is still very entertaining to this day, which is one of the reasons why this film has cemented itself as an all-time classic in the hearts of Telugu movie fans. Along with a plot, this film also has a solid cast with King Nagarjuna and Sonali Bendre being in the lead. Brahmanandam, Tanikella Barani, and the other supporting cast also add onto the plot while making the viewer laugh with the iconic comedy. An overall 10/10 film, this movie nails it. 10/10 Stars.
This is the first Telugu film I have seen, and although I am only beginning to learn the language, it was easy to follow this well-paced story.
Reminiscent of plays by Sheridan or Moliere, the screenplay was hilarious and friendly, and the sensitive touches would make it a good date movie. The punch-line ending was a great way to top off this misadventure.
Worth renting.

If i had to comment about this movie, my first words would be about dharma varapu subramanyam. His part, though it was short, made me watch the movie one more time. Brahmanandam's part, it says "watch me baby one more time..!" . Nagarjun's part of cracking their jokes is on top. All together vijay bhaskar delivered one perfect comedy with little but stronger love story. The good part of the movie is the way it goes while the hero does both comedy and tragedy parts, we don't even notice the changes.
The delivery of the transmitters is the best part. The tour to parris is another must watch.
