For this film sounds like the producer Carlos Vasallo wants to save all his money he could because himself was the director of the movie and Susana Dosamantes his wife at that time was one of his starts include her little children Paulina and Enrique Rubio.El Dia del Compadre pretend to make a portray of a typical neighborhood in a Mexican middle class building in a sexy comedy,three marriages and a single man(but he's the only one who has a maid!!) are the protagonists of this comedy,with very different personality every one ,Andres Garcia the the typical Mexican Macho-Men very proud to have two women,Susana Dosamantes and Hida Aguirre ( both with children),Jorge Rivero as an impotent gigolo whose wife work at night in a cabaret as a sexy dancer and Alfonso Zayas as an exhibitionist who like to have sex with his wife at downtown and the single one Rafael Inclan as the correct and virgin mature neighbor.

With all these ingredients someone would suppose that Carlos Vasallo, not usual director, would make a mess, however with the support of the comic actors Alfonso Zayas and Rafael Inclan ,over all , he got an acceptable comedy mostly if we compared it with all the films of these genre in Mexico at eighties.
