This is the most messed up entry on IMDb that I've yet to stumble across. All the previous reviewers act like this is the movie. This is NOT the movie. Rather it's merely a featurette that's an extra on the DVD of the movie "The One" It also nowhere near being the 90 minutes that it's listed here as. In actuality it's barely over 13 minutes of how cool Jet Li can do martial arts. and his reflections on the movie. So yeah this IMDb entry is quite a bit fubar. Don't listen to any of the other reviews as they are ALL wrong. You can trust me, because I never feed you, dear reader, BS.
and that's the truth. i guess u can say that i'm "the One" Reviewer that matters.

This movie is to be watched if you feel like watching great action! Jet Li is amazing like usual and the fighting is pretty insane for being filmed almost 20 years ago!
Would recommend if you're looking for fun and entertainment

Highlander meets Matrix meets Tai Chi Master.
This film is great! Jet Li proves once more that Chinese Martial Arts are still going strong. If you like this then try Tai Chi Master.

A renegade Multiverse law enforcer called Yulaw (Li) is nearing the completion of his quest to murder all his doplegangers. He has ambitions to devour his doplegangers and absorb their essence to become the "One". Each kill makes him stronger however strengthens surviving selfs. Such as LAPD officer Gabe Law (LI) who comfronts Yulaw.
Excellent examples of the new generation of digital ex, ie Matrix, Fast and Furious, and other forms of visual effects, but "the One", also delivers with well written story than traditional action one liner cheese fest films, and the Martial artistry of Jet Li. .

Ever wondered what would have been possible if not Keanu did the Kung Fu stuff in Matrix but real Martial Artist? The One is the answer to that. ok, it's not as stylish as the Matrix. And sure the story has one or two holes :). But the acting is quite fine for a Martial Arts movie, The action is cool.... this movie is Fun!

Jet Li versus himself is a potent combination in a movie. Yet, the concept is what makes this movie stand out. Just like Matrix introduced the element of we're all part of the program this introduces the element that we're all part of an infinitely branching universe. It somewhat makes sense that if you have a river that splits up into many different rivers and you go and block all the paths of the other rivers your part of the river becomes even more powerful.
The movie had special effects, yet didn't go overboard. This was probably because Jet Li can do things many other martial artist can't do even with wires. You had to go along with the movie in certain spots in order to believe, but it was entertaining.
The powers Jet Li acquires and how they are presented makes this movie stand out also.
All in all, I loved this movie. If you want to really become a Jet Li fan and love action, I would suggest you see this movie and Lethal Weapon 4. This will give you another icon to throw in the pot with the other icons such as Jackie Chan and the legend Bruce and let a person see why Don Wilson, Steven Segal, Jean Claude, the Texas Ranger and Taebo boy are just run of the mill martial artist.
Rating 7/10

It wasn't the best movie I've seen, but it was good. Some amazing effects coupled with Jet Lee's martial art skills make it very visually pleasing. Good plot too. Original if not scientifically worked out. Save it for a raining day.
The movie is in the same style as the matrix, lot's of special effects and good heavy music. Not the best movie I've ever seen, but if you like material arts you must see this one! If you don't like scifi don't!
The fight scenes blew my mind, the special effects are superb, and Jet Li does a great job as the villian. The actors apparently loved making this movie, they take a horrible script and make it watchable. It was a good premise. A bit short, but a good fight movie. One thing, though: The MRI fight scene could've never happened, the gun would've been pulled onto the magnet had Yulaw been standing in the doorway.

This is an excellent action movie! I love action movies and have really enjoyed all of Jet Li's recent films (Romeo Must Die, Kiss of the Dragon) but this is the best of them all!
The action sequences rival that of (dare I say it...) the Matrix for technical brilliance and the plot is technical, but not too confusing like so many other 'actor playing two parts' type of films (eg. Maximum Risk?).
All you action movie fans ought to be ashamed of yourselves for not posting your comments on iMDB and to compensate buy the film on DVD, you will not be disappointed.
In closing, if you haven't guessed by now, I loved The One. If you loved the Matrix, you should definitely consider adding this to your Bullet-Time collection (including Max Payne).
