George Lowe, the voice behind the famous character Space Ghost, passed away on Mar. 2 at the age of 67, and was confirmed by his representative to Deadline. His career spanned several decades, and he has lent his voice to many movies and TV shows. But he will be remembered most for voicing Sg on Space Ghost: Coast to Coast, a memorable and hilarious talk show featuring real-life actors, musicians, and others.

The voice actor and comedian was born in Dunedin, Florida, got his start at a radio station when he was only 15. Lowe later did a variety of voiceover work for Cartoon Network and Twbs in the 1980s and early 90s. But his big break came when he was cast as Space Ghost in 1994 for Cartoon Network's then-new animated and live-action talk show, Space Ghost Coast to Coast, which was created by Mike Lazzo, who went on to co-found Adult Swim.

George Lowe, the voice actor and comedian best known for his work as Space Ghost on the cult favorite series Space Ghost Coast to Coast, has died. He was 67.

A rep for Lowe confirmed his death to Rolling Stone. An exact cause of death wasn’t given, but according to a statement shared by Lowe’s family on Wednesday, March 5, Lowe died after facing “challenges” following elective heart surgery.

“George Lowe’s family has been grief stricken and unable to respond regarding his passing, on March 02, 2025, until now,” the statement read.

Acclaimed Space Ghost writer David Pepose shares his pitch perfect fan cast for a potential feature film based on the franchise.

Responding to a fan question on X, Pepose quite simply stated that Mad Men star Jon Hamm would be his preferred choice for a live-action Space Ghost. Pepose also gave a thumbs up to the suggestion of Reacher star Alan Ritchson playing the part, while he stated that Academy Award nominee Josh Brolin would be a perfect fit for Space Ghost's malevolent, interdimensional variant, the Space Spectre.

At New York Comic Con, it was revealed that Rick and Morty has been renewed for two additional seasons. The Adult Swim animated show is a satirical take on Back to the Future following a young man named Morty Smith who travels to other dimensions with his mad scientist grandfather Rick Sanchez via a flying saucer. The show is set to continue with the upcoming Rick and Morty season 8, which premieres in 2025.

At New York Comic Con, Rick and Morty executive producers Dan Harmon and Scott Marder revealed that the show had been renewed by Adult Swim for seasons 11 and 12. This is in addition to the season 9 and 10 renewals that were already set. With four additional seasons set to premiere after the upcoming season 8, this means that the animated show will run until at least 2029. Dan Stevens, Maggie Lawson and Natasha Leggero lead the voice cast for animated series The Milk Chug, which released its trailer on Tuesday.

Named after the show’s coffee shop, The Milk Chug follows the playful and hilarious adventures of Blue Cat and his friends, a collection of characters who have procured a global fandom over the past decade. At the start of Matt Groening's and David X. Cohen's 31st-century sci-fi sitcom "Futurama," the alcoholic robot Bender (John Dimaggio) sounded a little bit more like a drunken vagrant. He slurred his speech more and seemed less able to concentrate. As the show progressed, Bender became more self-assured, like the guy at the bar who — after his fourth shot of Jim Beam — is 100% confident he could thrash the bouncer. Bender became egotistical in addition to being a drunken criminal. On DVD commentary tracks, the makers of "Futurama" have said that Bender, in being a robot, allowed them more explicit depictions of violence and vice; a human character cannot drink a gallon of rotgut whiskey and smoke four cigars simultaneously, but a robot can. After 11 seasons and 139 classic episodes, one of Adult Swim's first flagship shows, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, was laid indefinitely to rest back in 2015, with co-creator Dave Willis simply noting that the president of Adult Swim Mike Lazzo wanted to move on from what was, at the time, the longest-running show on the late-night programming block. Despite the outpouring of frustration from fans, cast, and even the co-creators themselves, it would be eight excruciating years before the announcement was finally made that Aqua Teen Hunger Force would be returning. With a brand-new season on the horizon, and with eight years of painful waiting to rectify, the anticipation is palpable for the upcoming return. So, with all that in mind, here is everything we know about Aqua Teen Hunger Force Season 12 so far.

Eight years after ending their run on Adult Swim, the fast-food trio of Frylock, Master Shake, and Meatwad is back. The clip begins with Nathan as he exits a hospital (one surrounded by gigantic metal dragons) only to find a swarm of fans outside. The horde begins demanding for more music, shouting that they're desperate for a new Dethklok albumn without taking into consideration the band's well-being. This prompts Nathan, voiced once again by Brendon Small, to "break up" with his fans as he states that all of his problems are caused by them.

The clip, shared on YouTube by Adult Swim, features Dean (Michael Sinterniklaas) enlisting Dr. Orpheus (Steven Rattazzi) to help in his search for Hank. Adult Swim has dropped the first trailer for Metalocalypse: Army of the Doomstar.

Released to YouTube, the preview opens with Charles Foster Offdensen (Brendon Small) warning Dethklok that "the end of days is nigh" and that after so many years, "the metalocalypse is upon us." Although they're scared, the band sets out to find the "Song of Salvation" that will save the world from the coming Doomstar and Mr. Salacia's (Mark Hamill) evil plans for it. The trailer concludes by announcing that Army of the Doomstar will release on digital and Blu-ray on August 22.

Screen Rant recently spoke with some of the creators of Aqua Teen Hunger Force about the show's return, their new film, and the unreleased episode centered on the 2007 Boston Bomb Scare they were responsible for. Athf started in 2000 on Adult Swim's late-night block of adult animated series that entertained countless fans and inspired much of the humor of today's comedies. However, Aqua Teen went on to become one of the world's most recognizable adult animated series — though not without some controversy, like the infamous 2007 marketing campaign for Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film For Theaters.

A marketing stunt for 2007's Movie Film for Theaters went horribly wrong when Boston police mistook small boxes plastered with Athf characters, The Mooninites, as explosive devices and effectively shut down parts of the city. It made national news, apologies were given, and $2 million was paid to the city of Boston in restitution.

It's been recently announced that the stoner classic from Adult Swim, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, is being revived for the network with a twelfth season. Fans were surprised when the series had a new movie out in 2022, considering that the series had its definitive end with its 2015 cancelation. However, fans (or at least those in the know) were also met with a similar surprise when they realized the "series finale" wasn't quite what it made itself out to be.

A new standard headline that fans have been dealing with lately has been streaming services announcing that they are cutting more titles from their services, and Sunday saw the removal of the classic Adult Swim series, Metalocalypse, from HBO Max. However, what makes this movie extra shocking is that Metalocalypse is in the middle of a series of high profile projects, including a live concert tour, an album and, most importantly, a feature film!

Warner Discover announced earlier this month that it was pulling a number of animated titles from HBO Max (soon to be just Max on May 23), including Clarence, Space Ghost Coast to Coast, Flapjack, Foster's Home, Dexter's Laboratory, Ben 10: Omniverse, Ben 10: Ultimate Alien, and Ben 10: Alien Force. Likely the strangest show to be pulled, though, was Metalocalypse.
