This show is so cute that it's actually a little hard to describe. The show is about a Siamese kitten growing up in imperial China with her family and friends. In addition to Sagwa and her parents, there's also her brother and sister Dongwa and Sheegwa, their grandfather, and Sagwa's best friend Fufu (a bat). The cats are all under the care of the Foolish Magistrate, so made because of his tendency toward making rules that make absolutely no sense but still has a heart of gold. One thing that I really like is the theme song, which is where I got the title for my review. That song is quite lovely and sometimes I catch myself humming along to it. Adding to the theme song, cute characters, and cute story lines are some really great lessons and morals. Not only does it introduce Chinese language and culture but also some excellent moral lessons such as making appropriate choices, acting honourably, respecting elders, and looking after the good of a whole.
The after school line up was Art attack, Arthur and Sagwa (sometimes Pingo). Those were fun times in front of the TV.
I remember falling asleep to Arthur after a long day of school and wake up to Sagwa playing.
Sagwa was a nice wholesome show. The Animation at the time were some best. Voice work was great too. The Theme song is iconic too.

So i remember being obsessed with this show years ago, in fact, so obsessed i have made a series of powerpoints praising her by portraying her as the dictator and leader of her own powerful nation named after herself. But that's not what i'm here for. Anyways, This show became the divine part of me, I don't remember most of the show now but i'm pretty much getting back into it, I don't know why this show doesn't come on TV anymore but oh my god, that cat was pretty much my idol, This was until i shook it off years later (and i'm glad) because of life problems. I think Sagwa could've gotten more episodes if it weren't for those who cancelled it. In all reality, this show was a core divine part of me, 10/10 still good up to this day.. Oh, and Don't Forget Your Umbrella.

There's only so many ways you can tell the same old moral.
"Don't kill your parents", "Be yourself" &" Sharing" have all become standards cliches in kids show. It's gone up to the point where kids are becoming smarter and can predict the outcome of the show before it even ends.
Likewise, I find Sagwa a bit refreshing. It helps introduce younger children to other cultures and traditions - gives them a view of the world outside the box. It also helps talk about different topics, like our relationship with nature and about showing our feelings. Not new topics, but the ones not generally discussed.
The only thing I hate about this show is that the characters always laugh at the end of an episode. Apparently something ironic mimics the lessons learned and the all laugh... laugh.. laugh... I also think that this show
will never be as popular as Arthur as Amy Tan hasn't been making enough books as Marc Brown, nor does Sagwa include a greater diversity of characters than Arthur does.
In short, I find this show refreshing. It's definetly a good start.

As the year come passing by, This show isn't bad anymore. What I previously see as problems are actually leading to good morals and not the otherway around.
I wouldn't go as far as calling it a perfect show. As they are some minor things keeping it from being in that level. Certain episodes and characters are some but most of it's serviceable.
PBS usually knows what to do when making quality shows and this is proof that. The cancellation of the show is the most depressing cancellation that any show could have. Pity, cause it had potential to last longer than it did. Also the merchandise is so hard to come by to the point that they go for a crazy amount just to own them.
