Mohanlal & Srinivasan's evergreen duet as suckers who go onto become CID agents, thanks to their fates, are the characters that will blow your mind. The character depth is immense. Their exploits with Thilakan and other cast is terrific. How a serious crime movie churns out humor in every single scene of its running time is sheer mastery. A salute to the creators of this epic movie.

BOTTOM LINE: Watch the trilogy for non-stop enjoyment. Laughter guaranteed.

I have lost count of how many times i have watched this movie! the comedy combo is awesome!

One of the best Malayalam films ever! Its about how Vijayan and Dasan played by Mohanlal and Sreenivasan survive all odds to earn a decent living. It has some of the most remembered scenes in Mal movies like the scene with Gafoor. You will never get tired of this "for the masses film" where disasters that happen to middle class average people are portrayed with humor and how they finally overcome all odds. Mohanlal and Sreenivasan are outrageous laugh riot where Srinivasan has a inferiority complex about his dark, short PDC. Mohanlal hides his complex in a seemingly superiority complex of being tall, handsome and BCOM-first class. Excellent!

Comical, nostalgic and endearing Lalettan classic. I've seen this movie several times and just started watching it again recently after a while. While watching, I comment on my favorite scenes throughout the movie. Lalettan and Sreenivasan are the best comic duo of Malayalam Cinema and I love their portrayals as Dasan and Vijayan. Dasan (Lalettan) is my favorite because he's more flirtatious than Vijayan. Dasan has a constant infatuation for young women whereas Vijayan doesn't. I can relate to Dasan as I was very chartismatic with girls in my high school. Dasan is also snobby, conceited and pompous as he's always rubbing it in that he's "B-Com First Class" in Vijayan's face. Dasan and Vijayan can be seen as anti heroes from certain aspects but I still like them. My favorite scene from an image standpoint is where Dasan is wearing a light brown button down shirt in the beginning of the movie. My favorite scenes from a plotline standpoint are the fight scenes. I also love the on screen romance between Lalettan and Shobana as it's classic. This is the best movie of the Dasan and Vijayan triology.
