Les aventures des Schtroumpfs

I used to watch one of the Smurfs animated shows on Boomerang as a kid and I liked it. With the new Smurfs movie coming out next week, I decided to watch the movies in the franchise in preparation for that movie. The Adventures of the Smurfs (1965) is the first movie in the franchise and it was good.

Positives for The Adventures of the Smurfs (1965): The animation for this 1960's animated movie is really good and I love the old school aesthetic to it. The five segments are pretty good. You get the fun nature of these characters in black-and-white. The villains of Gargamel and Azrael is good enough for one of these segments. And finally, I watched these segments for free on YouTube.

Negatives for The Adventures of the Smurfs (1965): These segments were hard to follow as you have the Smurfs speaking in a different language and I couldn't understand anything they were saying and not even the subtitles could help. Some of these segments didn't have the best or most interesting stories to tell. And finally, this movie is extremely dated as it is very 1960s with everything.

Overall, The Adventures of the Smurfs (1965) is a fun compilation movie with the Smurfs and I would recommend the five segments to people who are fans of the Smurfs franchise.
