Foundation Imaging which produced Max Steel, also produced Roughnecks: The Starship Troopers Chronicles (1999). Often times, the artists/producers would use characters from the Roughnecks in Max Steel. IE Diz appears as a student in one of Josh's classes. Carmen is on a rope bridge and Josh has to rescue her, etc.

In 2014 after the closure of Adelaide Productions, the rights are now held by Sony Pictures Animation.
