Yes, you guessed it. Another movie where identical twins switch places. I think now that the Olsen twins are getting older they should try and make the plot less predictable and less like re-runs of 'Full House'. If you plan on seeing this film, don't. Watch 'The Parent Trap' instead. It's more entertaining.
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen ('Full House', 'To Grandmother's House We Go') play twin sisters (are there any other kind for these two?!). Sam (Mary-Kate) is the sporty, less-popular one, while Emma (Ashley) is the boy and fashion-obsessed one.
Here, the twins sign up for their dad's soccer team (which, to their dad Jerry's dismay, has turned co-ed), however, Emma is picked first out of pity for her dad's Hurricanes team, while Sam is shafted into the loser-ish Buzzards team.
So, to help eachother out, Sam and Emma trade places with eachother (how original!) to play on the opposite teams... until their mom finds out.
Stuck with their original placings, Sam becomes the star buzzard, while Emma does practically nothing on field except distract the other players... until, the final game (coincidentally between the Buzzards and Hurricanes), where they find Emma has a hidden talent...goalie.
A much better Olsen film than most, with their acting talents improving through the course of it. Not bad at all.

This movie was awesome!! (Not quite as good as the Leif Garrett masterpiece Longshot) but still awesome!! I thought Ashley looked freakin' huge compared to Mary-Kate in this film. I wonder why. Who woulda thought they could swith places like that and almost get away with it. Dad was kinda a jerk though and Mom was a little too chummy with Helmit Head. I give it 4. Any one who likes this movie shoudl check out Longshot.
I finally saw this movie for the first time today. I must say I found the actual film itself was rather lack-luster, and I agree with some people here about having to fast forward through some parts because it gets a little boring at times. Don't get me wrong, there were some comical and amusing moments through out the movie from time to time, but nothing really spectacular. However, I must saying, that Kathy Greenwood absolutely shined in this movie. She did an excellent job playing mother to the Olsen twins' Sam and Emma. It makes me wish that more people would offer Kathy bigger roles in movies more often.
So I ask you, which is the real loser, me or the film? *shrugs*

i saw switching goals ..twice....and always the same feeling...you see the Olsen twins make same movie....they like play different sports and then fall in love to boys..OK now about the movie....first off all such little boys and girls don't play on such big goals...2.football does not play on time outs...3.if the game is at its end the referee gives some overtime (a minute or more)...and the finish is so foreseen....i think that this movie is bad because of the lack of football knowledgement....if it were done by European producers it would be better..and also the mane actors aren't the wright choice...they suffer from lack of authentic..OK they played some seasons in full house but that doesn't make them big stars....you have got to show your talent....and that is what is missing in the Olsen twins
