I too have just been watching the entire first series of Opposite Sex and have to say this could've been one of the best new TV series for a long time. The show worked, it was funny and entertaining and even though it was shown between 3 and 5 a.m. I stayed up to see pretty much every episode. It wasn't until I visited this site and checked it out that I realised it only ran for one season. But on the plus side it introduced me to some great young actors e.g. Allison Mack, for whom I will be eagerly looking out for in the future. Every actor fitted into the role perfectly and for that we can be happy.
Happier still if they'd let it run for a while longer.

I also saw this on Channel Four recently at some crazy hour. The premise seemed totally ridiculously and the first episode or two seemed stupid too. But it really did grow on you. The casting agent should be particularly praised and the actors were perhaps the best thing about this short lived series.I fell in love with Alison Mack during this series. Nevertheless the writing was funny and some of the episodes quite surreal. Indeed the depiction teenage love was very true to life and insightful. The kids were real and you could relate to them unlike the verbose annoying characters in Dawson's Creek. This series had great potential but again it was mainly the young actors who made it work.
The Opposite Sex was the most incredible program ever made. I found myself always staying up until 3 in the morning to watch it. The script and plots were exellent and the actors were all so talented, especially Kyle Howard. I personally was very dissapointed that it was cancelled. And even more disappointed that Kate and Phil did not become a couple, although I was delighted when they kissed. Jed obviously should've chosen Miranda, as they were perfect for each other. I was also sad not to see more appearances by the Drugs Conselor man, who first appeared in "The Drug Episode". I hope Stella and Carrie live happily ever after as they truly are soulmates.
While all the promo spots for this "Sex Comedy" depicted 3 boys having their reign over a school full of girls that seemed to fall at their feet as though they were the oasis they had been looking for, the show itself was quite different.
I turned this on last night expecting to see what every teenage boy might DREAM of: A school full of beautiful women--demanding to have their sexual needs met, and a low supply of boys. Instead, you get a smart comedy that depicts how these girls are a little hostile, a little resistant to change, few are begging for sex, and Jed (the character through which you see most of the action) properly reacts to this strange situation; He feels outcast and lied in a time when every kid wants to be accepted--even though there ARE 300 beautiful women around him.
You can already see where some of the show is going--probably a smarter, funnier, and much more entertaining version of "Saved by the Bell" at it's best, judging by the pairing of 3 female leads with the 3 males in the opening sequence. At it's worst, it could be just another teen-comedy.
Judging by the pilot--I'd be leaning towards the smart and witty side, with a little teen-fantasy thrown in for good measure.

The series is about the lives and relationships of three boys who go to school in an ex- all girl academy. We see the friends or enemies or even possible lovers they make and how do they get along with the 197 girls and the teachers and their family.I think its an interesting series(some laughs, some cries, some thinking etc.)
