    Hilarious show!

The show is absolutely dreadful to look at - it looks cheaper than an expired cucumber from Netto, and the toy movie and Star Wars sets are evidently made from cardboard. But that only makes it better - the show itself is absolutely hilarious, and is so original - nobody else has ever had, or probably ever will have, this idea. I have always enjoyed watching this show - Adam and Joe's cunning plans are always very funny (and sometimes wise). Yes, we know that the "Record Store Guide" clips are arranged, and there is always either Adam or Joe behind the counter, but the "Dr. Spankle's Waxorama" clip is really fun to watch, and all the toy movies are great - "Saving Private Lion" is my personal favourite. This show is not on the famous end of the spectrum, but was it made to be? Another clip that I liked was "The 1980's House" - it is a shame that they didn't create a second one of them. On the whole, Adam and Joe's work is a hilarious watch - they made it themselves, and prove to us all that high budgets and all-star casts are not the only things that produce great comedy. Absolutely top-hole is this show - you must get it when you can. They sell it in Music Zone and other shops - it isn't hard to get your hands on, and is a classic slice of cult comedy. A spiffing (and pant-wetting) job! 9/10

DIY Low-Budget TV - A Hilarious Parody of Pop Culture !

Adam Buxton + Joe Cornish write, film, act in, edit and host their own home-made TV show which parodies contemporary popular culture. Star wars figures act out famous TV shows, soft toys act out films, Adam + Joe go undercover to reveal the truth about consumer culture, and Adam's father reviews the latest pop music (with little optimism !). Not to forget the Vinyl Police Squad 'arresting' famous musicians for owning appalling 'criminal records' .

I used to watch this every week; my favourite show as a 15-year-old ! Extremely unpretentious, just juvenile but witty entertainment on a Friday evening when the lads/ladettes were all out getting rat-arsed and us 'grunge-weirdos' preferred the idyllic pursuit of staying at home + watching some good quality TV !

You Must Be Joe-King - Hilarious Comedy Vignettes

Brilliant series, but it seemed to divide people. I saw it first time around and I think it passed a lot of people by or they didn't get it. Ironically, I think its format and sketches have been like a prototype for many series that started as a web series such as Limmy's Show and Consolevania.

It has Adam and Joe playing characters and doing silly hidden camera stunts like eating the 10% free portion of a box of cereals, Vinyl Justice where they looked at people's record collections such as Frank Black and said if they were bad or good while dressed as policemen, Adam's Dad reviewing chart pop music, silly observations of things to try; clearly spoofing the format of "Why Don't You?", the most famous sketches spoof films and TV using stuffed toys and Star Wars action figures such as: Toy-tanic, Furends (Friends), Stuff This Life (BBC 2 drama series This Life) etc.

IMHO it wouldn't get commissioned today due to Channel 4 focusing on what is middle-class safe reality TV or pseudo-game shows such as The Circle, Four in a Bed or really patronising shows featuring an excuse to show excessive full frontal nudity. Back in the late 90s they out-shined BBC in terms of comedy content (Brass Eye, Father Ted, buying big American comedies like Frasier and treating them with respect by showing them at a time when people are awake - Seinfeld at midnight come on BBC 2!). Adam & Joe probably would have been a successful Youtube channel instead if it was invented a decade later.

The Adam Buxton podcast is well worth checking out for more of the same with high school chums Joe Cornish and Louis Theroux as recurring interviewees, as is their now defunct BBC 6 Music and comedy show.

Adam and Joe are two of the funniest people alive!

It's true, they are. Their blend of satire and anarchy make it one of the best shows that Channel 4 has ever made.

The Toy TV moves are great (a drunken Obi-Wan Kenobi asking for money) and should be released on their own.

`BaaadDad' is excellent, and never fails to make me laugh out loud.

The only problem with this show is its time slot: midnight just does not work for it. It should be put on earlier.

    A cult classic.

When Adam & Joe splammed onto our screen in 1996 we were not dazzled by special effects and funny catch-phrases and sit-coms for buffoons. We saw the lighter, cheaper side of television. Adam & Joe made television history when they both took all their clothes off and hung upside down for an entire hour. Sure the guys were tired and dizzy after the show but as the Adam and Joe show's director (Quentin (Jugs) Tarantino) commented: "Get out of my way..."

After that moment the show's ratings rocketed into the sky and then ended abruptly as the show stopped.

It was on the front page of all the newspapers...headlines like "WHY?"....

And the controversial article written by Harold Fuuq used powerful imagery which made many cry "Who?... very angry... only if a monkey... not payed enough..."

Thousands took to the streets when The Adam & Joe Show ended on Friday the 28th of March. To mark the occasion a group of angry A&J fans set alight a Zoo in London killing a rare tropical verucca.

But the word on the street (This was actually written on a pavement in Brixton) is that Adam and Joe are returning to our TV screens to lead the revolution and to conquer the world........................

The reality is that Adam and Joe are sad and alone in their room and they want some company.
