Debra Jo Rupp’s Sharon Davis can never seem to catch a break. The character was first introduced to audiences in Disney+’s hit series, WandaVision, where she went as “Mrs. Hart” thanks to the spell cast by Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen). Kindhearted and pleasant — albeit a little bit nosy — Sharon was the lovable next-door neighbor with a spring in her step and plenty of flowers in her garden. Audiences caught up with the character in last year’s spin-off series, Agatha All Along, when she joined the doomed coven of Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn) as they walked the famed Witches’ Road. Unfortunately, Sharon’s stroll was cut short after she died during the very first trial that the coven faced in a creative move that told audiences just how high the stakes were.
Recently speaking with Collider’s Taylor Gates at PaleyFest, Rupp lamented over Sharon’s terrible luck when it comes to her neighbors.

Fans have been waiting a long time to see writer/director Macon Blair’s remake of the Troma cult classic The Toxic Avenger (watch it Here), which wrapped filming way back in 2021 and unveiled a teaser trailer near the end of 2023, around the time it had its world premiere screening – but we won’t have to wait much longer. At the start of the year, it was announced that Cineverse had acquired the distribution rights with the intention of giving the film an unrated wide release, and we’ve since learned that they’re aiming for an August 29th theatrical release. As we know, Peter Dinklage stars in the film as Winston Gooze, the character who becomes the new Toxic Avenger – but it was recently revealed by Entertainment Weekly that Dinklage doesn’t actually physically play Toxie. Instead, “Luisa Guerreiro, an actor and movement artist, provides the physical performance of...

The trailer for 28 Years Later just dropped and post-apocalyptic horror has never looked more unnerving. It’s the third installment in the 28 Days Later franchise, which has both terror and nostalgia. Especially when they’ve added a scene that has a few fans utterly floored and questioning if it was intentional at all.

Danny Boyle is bringing back the legendary zombie apocalypse series with “28 Years Later,” which will be released on June 20, 2025. This new film reimagines the horrifying world introduced two decades ago, re-engaging audiences with the fury virus story.
The upcoming instalment picks up nearly three decades after the original pandemic. The world has changed dramatically, with humanity now dispersed in small, isolated settlements fighting for survival in a landscape permanently altered by viral catastrophe.
The trailer delivers a disturbing glimpse into this post-apocalyptic reality. It depicts a group of survivors on a small, heavily fortified island. The cast is led by actors Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Jodie Comer, who play characters who must traverse a dangerous world where survival is tenuous.

Something about TV shows aimed at children often invites the bizarre, with many strange, short-lived series aimed at young impressionable viewers falling by the wayside over the years. The best kids' shows are able to captivate their audiences with relatable narratives, great characters, and dazzling production values, retaining the interests of kids and adults alike for years to come. But not every TV show that sets out to capture a child audience does so successfully, and many downright weird kids' shows have languished in obscurity for a good reason.
Because children are usually more willing to accept odd characters or nonsensical circumstances, some TV shows have taken it upon themselves to be quite experimental in determining what captures the attention of younger viewers. In many cases, standards for kids' shows are quite low so long as they don't include any content deemed too intense or inappropriate for children, which can...

Po the Teletubby is the youngest and most fun-loving character, speaking both Cantonese and English with a cute voice. Two talented actresses, Pui Fan Lee and Rachelle Beinart, have played Po throughout the years, showcasing their versatility. The Teletubbies series, created by Anne Wood and Andrew Davenport, has seen multiple revivals and continues to bring joy to viewers.
It was so long ago, it may be easy to forget that there was a time when you would flick on the TV (or ask an older sibling to do it for you) and settle back to enjoy the sunny wonder of The Teletubbies with all your colorful friends. Though for my money, none were as friendly nor as colorful as Po the Teletubby. The black and white Teletubbies meme originated in Garry's Mod, a game known for creativity and experimentation. The unsettling image quickly went viral, blending nostalgia with horror and resonating deeply with internet users. The meme serves as a haunting reminder of how childhood memories can be reshaped in the digital age.
If you were a child in the late '90s like me, chances are you have memories of the Teletubbies, and it's likely that those memories were corrupted by the black and white Teletubbies meme. With their brightly colored fur, antennae, and television screens on their bellies, Tinky-Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa, and Po were the epitome of wholesome children's entertainment. The show was designed to cater to preschoolers, featuring simple, repetitive narratives and nonsensical babble meant to stimulate young minds. Yet, in the strange, twisted realm of internet culture, even the most innocent of childhood memories can take on a sinister edge.

Teletubbies art video takes a dark turn, with Tinky-Winky's head sliced open to reveal blood and spiders. Chipper music devolves into horror, as Sun Baby's smile becomes devious with multiple blinking eyes. Teletubbies' surreal concept makes it ripe for a horror adaptation, though none have been announced.

Now is your chance to find out how to sing like Julie Garland, deal with being Edina Monsoon’s Pa and play a critically acclaimed chicken
It surprised a lot of people when Bubbles, the dippy personal assistant from Absolutely Fabulous, turned out to have a belter of a singing voice. Jane Horrocks showed off her chops in the 1998 film Little Voice having already conquered the stage with the lead role in The Rise and Fall of Little Voice.
Since then, Horrocks has become part of the fabric of the nation. On the big screen, she’s voiced a knitting-loving chicken in 2000’s Chicken Run and a duck opposite Bill Murray’s Garfield. In the flesh, she appeared in Dexter Fletcher’s Proclaimers jukebox musical Sunshine on Leith, and opposite Rob Brydon in 2018 sports comedy Swimming With Men. There are few hours of television more heart-poundingly tense than the "Breaking Bad" train robbery episode "Dead Freight." When I saw it for the first time, a relative came home to find me excitedly pacing around the living room, trying to shake off the massive adrenaline rush that came from watching Walter White (Bryan Cranston) and Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) pull off a seamless methylamine heist, only to have the moment undercut by rogue associate Todd's (Jesse Plemons) last-minute decision to murder a child who witnessed the crime. "Dead Freight" was thrilling a decade ago and it's still thrilling today. Somehow, though, I don't think it would've worked as well if it had involved a helicopter and a big vacuum hose.

"Loki" remains the best TV show in the Marvel Cinematic Universe — a show with a clear vision, great visuals that stood out from the formula of the franchise, and a fantastic and self-contained story that actually developed its main character and took him to new places, including a rare romance in the MCU. All of this while also expanding the overall Marvel universe by properly introducing the idea of the multiverse that has consumed Marvel the past few years, but doing more with the concept than even "Multiverse of Madness."
Indeed, in episode 5, Loki wakes up in the Void at the end of time, a place where those punished by the Tva are sent; a place where Loki meets several variants of himself. While the Void itself looks like your standard post-apocalyptic wasteland inspired by "Mad Max," this one stands out by being inspired in part by "Teletubbies." Yes, you read that right.

The yellow Teletubby, Laa-Laa, is the most memorable character from the Teletubbies series due to her distinct personality and love for singing and her orange ball. The role of Laa-Laa was played by Nikky Smedley in the original series and she invented many of the physical characteristics of the character. Rebecca Hyland took over the role in the reboot series and added a modern flare. The popularity and lasting legacy of Teletubbies is due in part to the simplicity and iconic nature of characters like Laa-Laa, who has left a permanent mark on pop culture.
Of the four main characters in the wildly popular children's series Teletubbies, the yellow Teletubby is perhaps best remembered for her distinct personality. ITV has announced the planned closure of its children’s channel Citv.
The channel was launched in 2006 after the success of the Children’s ITV programming block, which launched on ITV in 1983 to provide dedicated late-afternoon programming for children aged between five and 13.

The new service, Itvx Kids, is due to launch in July 2023. It will be rolled out during the UK school summer holiday period, with a range of titles aimed at both school-age and preschool children.

Rhys Frake-Waterfield, writer and director of Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey, wants to set his sights on other beloved properties such as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the Teletubbies. Frake-Waterfield made waves by transforming A. A. Milne and E. H. Shepard's beloved children’s character, Winnie the Pooh, into a bloodthirsty horror villain. With the original Winnie-the-Pooh book officially entering the public domain last year, the debut director was free to put his own dark spin on the material in a film that left public opinion divided.

Growing up, I wanted to live in Teletubbyland. Now, Netflix is giving viewers the chance to go back when it reboots the classic kids show on Nov. 14.
When I was a child, my parents played me VHS tapes of “Teletubbies” nearly every morning in our living room. As the sun baby giggled on screen, I would begin to hop up and down, ready to dance to the theme song and chant, “Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa, Po.” When the Teletubbies huddled together for their big hug, I joined them by wrapping my arms around our box television set.
I adored these cuddly, colorful characters. From frolicking in the hills to gobbling up Tubby Toast, I tried to mimic the same routine as the Teletubbies.
My parents would take me to a park in my hometown, where I imagined I was in Teletubbyland by searching for rabbits and rolling down hills until my clothes turned green.

If you're a parent, chances are you have an intimate knowledge of all things "Bluey," "Daniel Tiger," "Sesame Street," "Paw Patrol," "Arthur," "Peppa Pig," and the nightmarish curse known as "CoComelon." Pre-school programming is in a sincere heyday, and despite involuntarily flinching whenever you hear the "Hot Dog!" song from "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse," children's programming is the best it's been in years. As with all genres of entertainment, kiddie shows have also seen a resurgence in nostalgia. Millennials lost their collective minds when Steve returned for a "Blue's Clues" cameo, and all cried like toddlers once again when he gave us hopeful messages during quarantine.
There's been some reassessment as of late regarding public opinions of beloved children's figures like "Barney the Dinosaur," but few could have predicted the return of one of the most polarizing figures in children's entertainment history. I'm talking about "Teletubbies."

Some of television’s most beloved (and reviled) children’s characters are headed to streaming. The first trailer for Netflix’s upcoming “Teletubbies” revival series has been released, promising a return to the long-running franchise’s bizarre world.
First created in 1997 by Anne Wood and Andrew Davenport, “Teletubbies” is a British children’s show aimed at toddlers. Named after the main characters — a bizarre quartet of multi-colored, toddler-like creatures with antennae on their heads and television screens on their bellies — the show follows them exploring and playing in the grassy landscape they call home. The original show ran for five seasons and over 300 episodes and developed a global following thanks to syndication in over 120 countries. Even outside of its target demographic, the show quickly became famous for its surreal tone and character designs, and attracted sometimes bizarre controversy — such as when televangelist Jerry Falwell accused one of the Teletubbies, Tinky Winky,...

British kids’ TV has a fairly solid tradition of being really f-ing harrowing. If you’re old enough to remember The Boy From Space, Zelda from The Terrahawks, or Mister Noseybonk, you’ll know what we’re on about. You need only to check out the public information films of the 70s and 80s to understand how little regard for youngsters’ mental well being our broadcasters had. So, you know, Brit kids: double hard.
This, however, is not an actual example of Brit TV being terrifying, but one of a Thomas & Friends Halloween special which ended up with a slightly bizarre difference between its UK and US versions:
Thomas and his fellow engine Emily are sent to the smelter’s yard for a nighttime collection of some iron, but get spooked by pranks set up by diesels Harry and Bert, and become convinced there’s a g-g-g-ghoooost! Emily ends...

Several years ago, Smith had written on Facebook: “I’ve decided it’s time to tell everyone. I used to hide it but after a lot of encouragement from my friends at university, I’ve gained the confidence to come out with it.

Kanye West’s “Jesus Is King” scored just $862,000 in its opening weekend on 372 IMAX screens nationwide, for a less-than-divine per-screen average of $2,317.
On the one hand, that’s far below how other specialty films have performed this weekend. The critically acclaimed Palme D’Or winner “Parasite,” for example, was grossed $1.8 million this weekend from 129 screens, for a $14,170 per screen average. Taika Waititi’s “Jojo Rabbit” also outperformed “Jesus Is King,” with $1 million from 55 screens.
But there’s an important caveat: While “Parasite” and “Jojo Rabbit” got a full share of screenings at the theaters playing them this weekend, “Jesus Is King” had more limited showtimes. That’s because IMAX, which has deals with all major studios, is currently devoting most of its screens to Disney’s “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil” and other blockbusters. Screenings of “Jesus Is King” were inserted in between showings of feature-length blockbusters, minimizing how much it could gross.

If the press cycle around Kanye West’s 2018 “Wyoming Sessions” marked an extreme if well-earned low point in his ongoing relationship with the public, it also underscored a truth about the notoriously polarizing artist that his fans and critics alike hold onto equally fervently: He means every word he says.
This blunt honesty made him an emblematic celebrity for 2019 — the kind whose behavior fiercely repels some, while inspiring others to double down in their support — but everyone believes that it’s sincere. That’s also why “Jesus Is King,” his 35-minute IMAX film released in conjunction with a new album of the same name, will largely and predictably preach almost exclusively to the converted.
Directed by Nick Knight, “Jesus Is King” is at once too long for a promotional music video and too short for a proper exploration of Kanye’s last year of creative exploration. But with the same...

Once, children’s films had original concepts and plots – but the latest spin-offs use stitched-together versions of old TV episodes. But is it only the adults who feel cheated?
Teletubbies Songtime at the Cinema is released today, and the film promises to be the perfect culmination of every major cinematic theme of 2019 so far. Like Aladdin, it features an inanimate object come spectacularly to life (Noo Noo). Like Us, it features creepy doppelgangers of the main cast (the Tiddlytubbies). Like Avengers: Endgame, its antagonist is a hideous purple monster hellbent on wreaking universal destruction on a terrified populace (Tinky Winky). Make no mistake, Teletubbies Songtime at the Cinema has it all – apart, that is, from an original plot. Because, on closer inspection, the film is five regular episodes of Teletubbies stitched together. The episodes have already been shown on CBeebies and are available free on iPlayer.

Calling Happy! a psychedelic mystery revelling in debauchery with a little added sweetness wouldn’t do it justice. The show is so much more. Imagine Quentin Tarantino and Peppa Pig had a baby, with the Teletubbies and Looney Tunes as godparents; that baby would be Happy!
To watch Happy! with expectations or the belief that we know what is going to happen, is to realise how accustomed we’ve come to clichés, and how refreshing it is to expect the unexpected. The story is a pick’n mix of: mobsters, crooked cops, creepy kids entertainers, gangster’s wives, reality TV, faith, and imaginary friends.
Nick Sax (Christopher Meloni) is a hard-drinking, cynical ex-cop turned hitman, whose life takes a turn with the arrival of Happy (Patton Oswalt); a winged blue unicorn, and his estranged daughter’s imaginary friend. Together they traverse the city’s seedy underworld to rescue Hailey (Bryce Lorenzo...

Popeye, the 89-year-old spinach-powered mariner, will be launching his first new adventures in more than a decade in new animated originals slated to debut on the brand’s YouTube channel.
The new material will come under a pact between WildBrain, a digital kids’ network and studio, and Hearst’s King Features Syndicate, which handles licensing for the Popeye franchise. WildBrain will create new animated content in the “squash-and-stretch” animation style of Popeye, in collaboration with King Features.
Also under the agreement, WildBrain will take over management of the “Popeye and Friends Official” channel on YouTube, launched in January 2017, with an eye toward boosting its audience. Initially, WildBrain plans to produce new compilations of Popeye classic cartoons, drawing from shows including “Popeye,” “Popeye and Son,” and “The Continuing Adventures of Popeye.”
It’s worth noting that King Features is focusing on YouTube and digital platforms to serve as Popeye’s anchor — not TV.

Ready for the comedy surprise of the year so far? Get yourself a ticket to the really impressive Game Night...
A couple of days on from seeing Game Night, it's still making me laugh. It's been a long time since we've seen something this consistently funny come out of a Hollywood studio, but for once, it's terrific to see a comedy that doesn't pile all of its jokes in the trailer and doesn't get bogged down in meanness. For those of us who still shudder at the memory of Office Christmas Party, Jason Bateman most definitely redeems himself here.
The film opens with his character Max meeting Annie (Rachel McAdams) at a pub quiz, where they match wits over Tinky Winky from Teletubbies. It's love at first sight, and their matching competitive streak makes them formidable hosts of a regular game night for their friends. Regrettably, Max's sibling rivalry with...

British actor Simon Shelton, best known for playing Tinky Winky in the “Teletubbies,” has died. He was 52. Shelton — who also went by the name Simon Barnes — starred in the cult BBC children’s show from 1997, taking over the role of the purple character from Dave Thompson. He played the purple character in 1999 when former Moral Majority leader Jerry Falwell drew ridicule for his contention that Tinky Winky was a gay Teletubby. According to the actor’s son Henry, Shelton died on Jan. 17, BBC News reported. Also Read: Jo Jo White, Boston Celtics Legend, Dies at 71 Shelton also played Dark Knight...
