The Uninvited

This movie was based on a true story the Johnsons from Tuckerman AR ...Charles and Sharon Johnson ...house was built on a cemetery ...these are my parents the house is the real deal still standing today ...there is also a short story wrote about my family and lots of newspaper articles that support evidence ...very cool to be a part of this and have a film wrote and directed about my family ...course it's made for TV a lot of it didn't happen ...we are actually twin brothers not brother and sister ...the hauntings were real ..the were very real ...I actually started a paranormal investigation team as a result of all this ...if your looking for the real story behind this movie ...look me up Off The Grid Paranormal ...easy to find ...

Whew! Imagine how bad this movie would have been if not for Beau Bridges and Sharon Lawrence. I mean, it was pretty bad. It's essentially a compilation video with clips from several other horror movies. Nothing original to be found in this tepid made-for-TV flick. I probably would bailed after the first half hour but both Bridges and Lawrence were just damn fine. They never phoned it in even though they MUST have known what they were doing was pure cheese. They gave it their all and that made the movie almost bearable. Pretty much everyone else in this movie was a cookie cut out. There's the brash ominous psychic we've seen in one million other movies. There are all the familiar neighbors, the men dorky, the women a gaggle of gossipers. You got your basic psychiatrist to tell the poor damsel it's all in her head, the little boy, the little girl and even a nice doddering old lady to fill out the cast. None of it worth a damn, but by gum, Beau and Lawrence put some effort into it so I'm gonna do the same. I'll give it a five because it's not the most terrible thing I've seen in spite of all the cornball writing and tired old tropes.

I loved this movie. it was filmed 4 houses down from me, in my friend sean's house! i loved meeting the cast! my friends were all in it! like the boys playing with water guns and the girls roller'blading! i was even walking on the street in one scene! The orchard is not there anymore! now there is a much larger neighborhood connected to it! and we don't actually live on a family cemetary!(thank god!) if you have questions, please e-mail me!

Yeah it might fit some of the clichés like a father who doesn't believe his wife until the last second, the power of love to drive away demons, and the reclusive fortune teller who ends up saving the day, but i found it an easy entertaining watch. Maybe it has something to do with how old the film is, it's kind of nostalgic and cheesy.

There could've been more moments of horror though which would've made it stand out a little more. Some of the graphics made the film look a little too cheap but I guess back then it was something far advanced and out of this world so I really can't hate on that.

I saw this movie on TV last Halloween. I'm not saying it was a bad movie but then again I'm not saying it was good either. It was just okay.

I was hoping to see something really creepy and scary and that's NOT what I got. The story was pretty good, it had one or two spooky moments but it was not a scary movie. And I'm a person that scares very easily. It also had a sort of a cheeseball ending too. The effects were good but it was over done and it just wasn't that cool. But it was interesting.

I haven't seen very many scary movies in my lifetime. Not as many as I would like to anyway. But this definitely wasn't a movie I would buy.
