Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves arrives 26 years after Garou: Mark of the Wolves, marking the return of Snk’s classic one‑on‑one gameplay. Single players can climb the traditional Arcade ladder or explore Episodes of South Town, a map‑driven RPG mode that ties narrative beats to sequential battles and light progression. Online lobbies rely on rollback netcode for smoother matches, though...

For anyone who loves gratuitous, over-the-top action games, it doesn’t get any bigger than the Dynasty Warriors franchise. With the release of Dynasty Warriors: Origins (out today), Koei Tecmo has brought back the hack-and-slash historical fiction series and reinvented it for a new generation. Amidst heavy competition from games like Street Fighter, Fatal Fury, and Samurai Shodown, Eternal Champions was released in 1993 to a cult fandom. The Sega Genesis' response to Mortal Kombat is also the latest fighting game to get its own movie adaptation.
Pokmon Detective Pikachu writer Derek Connolly is confirmed to develop the screenplay for Eternal Champions, a live-action film based on the 1993 Sega Genesis video game. Connolly has extensive writing credits including Kong: Skull Island and three Jurassic World installments. Per The Hollywood Reporter, the adaptation will be produced under Skydance by executives Don Granger, Dana Goldberg, and David Ellison; Sega executive Toru Nakahara, producer of the Sonic the Hedgehog film series, will helm the production for the video game company. The Skydance-Sega collaboration was initiated by Rob Ree, who will also executive produce along with Aimee Rivera as Skydance project lead.

Throughout the ‘90s, Snk was one of the kings of the fighting game genre, with the company developing and publishing classics like Fatal Fury, Art of Fighting, and The King of Fighters. Now that the publisher has successfully revived the Samurai Shodown and King of Fighters franchises for a new generation of fans, Snk is set to unleash the epic return of Fatal Fury with City of the Wolves, the first entry in the series in 26 years when it finally hits shelves next year.
