At last Brazilian producers decided take it to large screen the story of this notorious and strong psych's physical effects on healing Zé Arigó (Danton Mello) ever had in Brazil, the plot took place in Congonhas do Campo in countryside of state of Minas Gerais.

The movie approaching since his childhood until his death in 1971, unfortunately was put some unaccurate events as actually Zé Arigó had operated the governor Juscelino Kubitischek, however overall the picture is great displaying all developing process to became a powerful psych in healing when embodied by the German Dr. Adolph Fritz, after a hard acceptance to be utterly catholic, henceforth due its healing actives the local priest used to be ashamed him during the cult, afterwards he never returns to the church, not even dead.

Also come out the worst, when he was deeply pursued by the medical association and the church neither, he was took the courthouse for illegal practice of medicine, sadly concealed in the plot when he was amnestied by Kubitscheck, just showing the second trial where he was found guilty, this turn Arigó understand what meaning of the amnesty he turned down the offer, being locked up for seven months, even there he continuous providing healing assistance inside the jail for thousands.

This man was almost illiterate, thus being unable to practice of illegal medicine or even charlatanism that some tried implied him, due he never charged any money for its healing always arguing that who cured those people was the bold Dr. Fritz, great picture sponsored by Paramount Pictures, after showed at theaters it come out on DVD on small scale by Imagem Filmes, going straight to streaming.

For the sake of a good biography, it satisfies me when presented in a linear way, containing at most a few flashbacks, here we have a beautiful biography of a charming, sanctified and necessary character, despite the somewhat confusing beginning, it gained expressive lines of the detailed facts of the miracles performed... Beautiful, fascinating, perhaps it can convince even atheists... It reminds us a lot of the biography of Chico Xavier... Due to the characteristics of the production... Exciting...

The story of Zé Arigó who, through the spirit of Dr. Fritz, a German doctor who died during the First World War, became one of the greatest phenomena in spiritual surgery in the world.

Before to be a movie about Spiritism is a real and incredible history about one of the greatest healing mediums - the brazilian Zé Arigó.

Zé Arigó was a famous medium and director of the Jesus Nazareno Spiritist Center, in his hometown, Congonhas do Campo, gaining national and international fame due to the extraordinary spiritual surgeries assisted by the Spirit called Dr. Fritz. Accused of charlatanism, he was convicted and imprisoned, later given amnesty by the then President of the Republic of Brazil, Juscelino Kubitschek, not mentioned on movie; then convicted and imprisoned again, despite strong popular appeal against his arrest. He was a contemporary and friend of Chico Xavier, José Herculano Pires and Divaldo Franco - the most notable spiritist influencers of his time. Herculano was even his biographer and fearless defender of Arigó's moral integrity, in the midst of controversies in the spiritist movement regarding the lesser interest of that medium in the doctrinal issues of Spiritism in relation to the work of healing, although his mediumistic abilities did not result in more serious doubts than evidence of an exuberant college, which was consecrated to the most needy people.
