Kenny Starfighter

It is very funny. I have seen it tree times and I love it I'm Swedish you know so I understand vat they are saying. All of you should see it you will ¨have a fun time i like the German teacher he speaks funny. It is fun with dim witted super heroes. The weapon rocks and the hard rocker are so stupid that it is a shame for real hard rockers like me but it is fun any way. You know how it works so I have to write some more. I hope all of you read it. Any other questions ask me on my mail. OK I just have to write two more lines about Kenny. I like his outfit it is nice. If you were 5, 10 or 15ish when the first season was aired - 25 years ago - you may feel a strange feeling called being "nostalgic" towards that old show that we - as emotionally formative children - enjoyed back then.

Being almost 30 years older will make this new show difficult to appreciate the same way. It will make the humor of that era - the one you lived in almost 30 years ago - seem like "better" humor, even "good" and this new era show "bad" and "lacking humor" even.

What you are forgetting, maybe not even able to realize despite your 25+ years of age, is that the original show was deemed very stupid by many of its time. That Homer Simpsons was smarter than Kenny. That there was no humor, only absurdities and children swearing.

This new show is as just as good. Just as clever. Just as funny. Even if non of us 25+ may think so.

Such were the words spoken by Thomas Di Leva in what is possibly the cultiest cult show on this planet, or on Mylta for that matter. Johan Rheborg, fresh out of playing money-hungry cynic Percy Nilegård, stereo-loving Uncle Barbro ("There are no shortcuts to the perfect sound!") and the haunting Kaminmannen in "Nilecity" and "Percy Tårar" puts on a blond wig, blue contact lenses, a smooth tan and a suit made out of old Coke cans, and the universe will never be the same...

The show has a solid plot but it's really all in the characters and their reactions to the strange things that are happening around them. The casting director actually managed to find a group of kid actors who *gasp* DIDN'T SUCK! Yes, you might need to take a step back and absorb that for a moment. My favourite is Tyrone, he has a wicked hairdo! The cast is great all around with the aforementioned Rheborg and Di Leva, Lakke Magnusson as a brilliantly sleazy biology teacher ("Hate! Hate! Hate!"), Måns Westfeldt as a very evil, very smelly Dr. Deo, Sten Elfström as a corrupt cop, Camilla Henemark as a hot Evil Nurse and Sten Ljunggren as the school principal (haven't we all suspected our headmaster to be the root of all evil at some point? Seriously?). The kids who play the three unlucky punks who keep stalking Kenny (with painful consequences) are also really funny.

The versatile and great cast wouldn't be anything if it wasn't for the script and characters, though. Luckily, both of these are brilliant. Unforgettable lines, original and disturbing characters, and a tongue-in-cheek, off-the-wall sense of humour make Kenny Starfighter one of the greatest cult shows ever created. Seriously, it has zombies, Hairminators, sarcastic computers, evil teachers, flying vacuum cleaners and buses, flying telephone booths, trading cards with the power to destroy the entire world, and as a bonus, the moon gets turned into a grapefruit! Or is it an orange? A wickedly funny show which deserves respect in my opinion. Naysayers should be pumped full with a syringe of Mähälium - that'll teach 'em!

Oh, and it has an AWESOME theme song. Easily the best of the nineties.

"Fy fan vad bra!"

I had to force myself finishing this series. And doing so I was convinced that my taste as a child must have been so bad, if I had appreciated the first season from 1997. Because this was just awful. No humor, no charm, nothing over the top, nothing. And as they say in Tropic Thunder: Never go full ret*rd. Penny went full ret*rd.

So I was questioning my own young judgement, and just had to rewatch the original season from 1997. It was INCREDIBLE!

Pretty disgusting; they play with cow's eyes, a guy makes out with a lung and they walk around down in sewers.

Very unpleasant; a policeman stops by the school principal, the principal says: "Dra åt h*lvete!" "Excuse me?" "Det är åt h*lvete!". The guy making out with a lung says to the girl he likes: "Waiting for tetanus" and she replies: "Det vet jag väl, äckelj*vel!" Then a lot of other funny stuff, like Kenny who keeps arguing with one of the kids and says he is "helt sl*t", another of the kids called Burken who is obese and just eats all the time, a corrupt policeman, a Thomas Di Leva as weird as always - but in this story is right. 8/10, real anti-hero series that is kind of a mix of Deadpool and Star Wars. But this season 2? The production looks clean and the cost was definitely way more expensive, but it's just poor poor poor.

Maybe i am wrong but I think this is typical for the Swedes. Since i am from Sweden I think it's hilarious, you shall have in mind that it is for children (even adult children). The mini is about this opposite to Blixt Gordon a total loser, a galactic anti-hero. He gets an impossible mission on earth where he gets help from some kids who belives he is super..or?
