The lead role of 'Ganga' was exclusively written for 'Madhuri Dixit'but madhuri had some issues with Subhash Ghai during filming of 'Khalnayak' so opted out of the movie.

Yeh Dil Deewana was shot by Shahrukh Khan's duplicate.Shahrukh Khan had to rush to Delhi to be with his pregnant wife Gauri.Subash Ghai called him early morning and took 2-3 close ups rest long distance shots were shot with his duplicate.

When Subhash Ghai decided on putting Mahima Chaudhry in this movie, he changed her name from Ritu to Mahima cause the letter 'M" was lucky for a Subhash Ghai debut (Meenakshi Sheshadri, Manisha Koirala, and Madhuri Dixit).
