When Sam is taking a shower for the first time in Clydie's house, he has a little bit of soap on him. As the sheriff draws down on him and he turns around, he has a lot more soap on him than a split second before.

During the lunch scene, Mookie asks Sam to pass the salt. Sam gives the salt shaker to the kid and you can see Mookie taking it with his left hand. In the next shoot, from another angle, he is taking it with his right hand.

When the prisoners try to steal the car right after they escape from the prison bus, they start a fight. One of the prisoners falls through the door, after receiving a punch. However, in the next shot, when he falls on the ground, the door is closed.

When sheriff Lonnie beats Sam, Sam remains lying in the barn on wooden planks but when Clydie arrives moments later, Sam is still unconscious in front of the barn on the dusty ground.

In the beginning of the movie, the painted lines down the center of the road change from a yellow-striped two-lane country road for two-way traffic to the broken dashed white lines of a two-lane same-direction road, such as a center-divided four-lane interstate-type highway.

When the bus flips you can clearly see the air ram used to roll the bus.

The prison bus has the words "Federal Bureau of Prisons" painted on the bus. The Federal Bureau of Prisons moves inmates in unmarked vehicles and a movement of that size has a lead car and at least two or more escort cars.

The uniforms the officers are wearing were not what was Bureau of Prisons issue at that time.

The front door of the house has its windows brightly lit from inside, yet when Sam pushes the door open, the room inside is clearly dark.

In the opening prison bus ride, as the camera follows the car following behind , you can clearly see the camera stand attached to the lower rear right of the bus.

The sheriff beats Sam in the back, around his kidneys. In the next scene, when Clydie is ministering to Sam's wounds, she daubs his front, nowhere near where the sheriff was hitting him.

When Sheriff Lonnie first meets Mr. Dunston, he very clearly introduces himself as Lonnie Poole (about 18:15 into the movie), and later, when Lonnie and Mr. Dunston are talking outside the auto-parts store (about 57:20), Mr. Dunston calls him Lonnie Poole. Even in the subtitles his last name is Poole, yet in the credits to the movie, he is identified as Lonnie Cole.

When Sam is driving the offroad bike, his tires changes, after the terrain. Offroad tires in the rough, and normal tires on the road.

When the barn is on fire and Sam is in the digging machine. He's trying to lift the water tower. Just before it falls you can see the cable releasing the water tower to fall over.
