This show started out as a series of one-minute shorts that aired during commercial breaks on Nickelodeon between 1990-1993.
Only Mike Maronna appears in all 39 episodes. Little Pete is not in "Yellow Fever"
Danny Tamberelli and Michael C. Maronna remained close friends even after the show ended, co-hosting a podcast together called "The Adventures of Danny and Mike".
A feature movie was scripted being about Little and Big Pete intentionally cause a snow day so they can miss school. For several reasons this project never materialized, the shows creators would later remark that was one of the biggest disappointments of the series. The concept of the snow day would later go on to become the Nickelodeon movie Snow Day (2000)
The near indecipherable and much-debated lyrics to the theme song are: "Hey smiling strange, you're looking happily deranged (Can you settle to shoot me,) and have you picked your target yet Hey Sandy...ai yai yai yai... Does your dog bite (yai yai yai) , Hey Sandy Four feet Away, end of speech its the end of the day We was only funning, but guiltily I thought... You had it coming, Hey Sandy, Does your dog bite, Hey Sandy." The line in parenthesis above has never been revealed by the band members, and "Can you settle to shoot me?" is only one of several interpretations.
