The 90% Rated Picture Clint Eastwood Considers His Biggest Regret, Directed by ‘Dirty Harry’ Director
Image
Clint Eastwood has directed and starred in several incredible films and was the poster boy (or should we say poster man) for masculinity in the ‘70s and ‘80s. The Western legend played no-nonsense heroes who did the right thing, with his signature squint and never-give-up attitude. However, there was one movie that broke this image.

Before Eastwood became the symbol of badassery with Dirty Harry, in the same year, he starred in Don Siegel’s The Beguiled (1971). The Gothic thriller saw Eastwood play a wounded Union soldier, who becomes the object of fascination of a group of nuns of all ages as he recovers in their Seminary. Eastwood reportedly regretted the film’s performance.

Clint Eastwood Served His Last Action Hero Moment in This $187M Classic
Image
Clint Eastwood’s final pure action hero performance, In the Line of Fire (1993), is a critically acclaimed thriller that grossed approximately $187 million worldwide. In this film, Eastwood portrays Frank Horrigan, a seasoned Secret Service agent haunted by his failure to prevent President John F. Kennedy’s assassination.

While Clint Eastwood went on to star in and direct many acclaimed films, In the Line of Fire was the last movie where he portrayed a traditional action hero and was involved in gunfights, chases, and one-on-one confrontations. What made In the Line of Fire stand out wasn’t just its box office success or its high-stakes narrative, but the way it captured Eastwood’s aging hero persona with sincerity and suspense.

As Comic Book Movies Scale Back Releases, Marvel and DC Look to This Summer to Decide the Future of Superhero Cinema
Image
It’s easy — really, too easy at this point — to proclaim that the era of superhero movie is over. As the start of this month, Marvel’s “Thunderbolts*” opened to some of the strongest reviews the Marvel Cinematic Universe has received in years, and yet, by the end of May, it will have earned less domestically ($174 million to date) than 2022’s “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” did in its opening weekend ($187 million). Last week, Marvel Studios announced that it was pushing “Avengers: Doomsday” and “Avengers: Secret Wars” from May to December of 2026 and 2027, respectively, while pulling three other untitled Marvel projects set to open within that same timeframe from the schedule entirely. The former decision will allow directors Joe and Anthony Russo more time to marshal two of the biggest, most expensive feature films ever made. The latter decision is pure commerce, an easing of supply in response...

Kevin Costner’s 23 Year Old Western Was the Spiritual Sequel to Clint Eastwood’s ‘Unforgiven’ Starring Diego Luna
Image
If anyone (or two) can break the narrative that there needs to be only one maestro in one genre, that will be Kevin Costner and Clint Eastwood. As the two stars have accumulated decades of experience in their resume, they have also cultivated the reputation of auteurs of Western cinema.

While Costner and Eastwood’s filmographies often fall under the lens for a perceived competition, more often than not, their Westerns complement each other.

Following the success of his Dances With Wolves, Costner went on to direct a few more Westerns, including Open Range in 2003, starring a pre-Andor Diego Luna. Despite Open Range being a Costner film, spiritually it was more akin to Eastwood’s 1992 tentpole, Unforgiven.

Clint Eastwood Masked His Only Horror Movie as a 94% Rated Western That You Can Rent on Apple
Image
Clint Eastwood is not really an auteur filmmaker, but he has a certain affinity for particular genres. His filmography is eclectic, but it covers a specific range of topics and can be easily categorized. While he is known for Westerns, he has explored various dimensions in that too, bidding goodbye to it with Unforgiven and Cry Macho.

One of Eastwood’s earliest directorials saw him experiment with the genre in a way that he has never done before or after. The revenge drama High Plains Drifter takes the familiar trope of a stranger visiting a new town and being asked to be its protector and turns it on itself. However, it is Eastwood’s atmosphere of mystique and horror that makes it more fun.

Taylor Sheridan: A 35-Year-Old Kevin Costner Masterpiece That Redefined the ‘Western Genre’ Inspired Yellowstone
Image
Throughout his showbiz run, Kevin Costner has become notable for his prolific presence in the western landscape, which dates back to his initial days in the industry, starting with Silverado in ’85. Even though Silverado served as a breakout point for the actor, the movie that made his presence prominent within the genre was his directorial debut, which premiered 5 years later.

Interestingly, Taylor Sheridan’s inspiration for Yellowstone stemmed from Costner’s directorial feature, whose impact on the genre can’t be overstated.

Like Costner, Taylor Sheridan‘s fascination with westerns began at a very young age, especially from the media he consumed. This involved works from writers Cormac McCarthy, Larry McMurtry, and Toni Morrison, and as for what shaped his modern-day western epic, in addition to Clint Eastwood‘s Unforgiven, Sheridan also...

Roger Ebert Absolutely Hated A Forgotten Clint Eastwood Gangster Movie
Image
Clint Eastwood is a Hollywood legend but even actors and directors of his stature have had their share of missteps. Eastwood's best roles represent truly seminal characters in cinema history. His worst, however, are no better than any others. Well, maybe better than John Travolta, who has a full seven total failures with a 0% score on Rotten Tomatoes. According to that same website, Eastwood's worst film, with a lowly 13% Rt score, is 1955's "Revenge of the Creature," followed by 1980's "Any Which Way You Do."

His third worst, according to the Tomatometer, is 1984's "City Heat," and it seems Roger Ebert would be in violent agreement with this ranking. In fact, the celebrated critic would likely argue that "City Heat" deserves to be the lowest-rated of all Eastwood's projects, as he wrote a scathing review of the film upon its release in which he seemed genuinely upset that the...

Yellowstone Fans Should Watch Taylor Sheridan's Favorite Clint Eastwood Western
Image
While your mileage may vary when it comes to Taylor Sheridan's numerous movies and TV shows, you can't deny that the man has taste. He knows the good stuff and often draws inspiration from the best when it comes to his own screenplays and directorial efforts. In 2017, right before his self-proclaimed directorial debut "Wind River" came out, Sheridan spoke with Rotten Tomatoes about his favorite movies or, more specifically, the ones that meant the most to him as a filmmaker. I don't think it'll come as a big surprise to any Western lover that Clint Eastwood's iconic 1992 farewell to the genre, "Unforgiven," was sitting at the top of his list as one of his all-time best-loved features.

Sheridan praised Eastwood's masterpiece, saying, "Clint Eastwood demystified and destroyed our notion of a Western. He turned it upside down. It was marvelous acting, and at times, his use of...

Clint Eastwood movies: 20 greatest films ranked worst to best
Image
Clint Eastwood, the actor-turned-director and producer, has had one of the longest and most varied careers of anyone working in the entertainment world. In addition to his film work he has also amassed an impressive resume as a musician and composer and even served as the mayor of the California town Carmel-by-the-Sea during the 1980s.

Eastwood began his film career in westerns and later also found success in crime dramas. He was mostly known for his striking good looks and stoic demeanor though and was not really considered a serious or talented actor. He would slowly work to change that fact and would eventually receive two Oscar nominations for his acting, both as Best Actor for “Unforgiven” in 1992 and “Million Dollar Baby” in 2004. While he didn’t win either of those acting awards, he would win two Oscars for each of those films as Best Director and as a producer...

Clint Eastwood directed movies: 16 greatest films ranked worst to best

For over half a century, Clint Eastwood has been one of the world's greatest movie stars. Comfortable in both westerns and contemporary roles, his measured growl of a voice has been a key part in creating such iconic characters as The Man With No Name and Dirty Harry. Eastwood made his first foray into directing in 1971 with the thriller "Play Misty For Me," earning him a newfound critical respect for his clear directorial skills. And over 35 films later, Eastwood has become one of the most acclaimed filmmakers working today.  Of his 11 Oscar nominations, four have been for Best Director with two wins (1992's "Unforgiven" and "Million Dollar Baby" in 2004). He also won producing Oscars for the same two movies. He has received seven Golden Globe nominations for directing, winning three times. His peers in the Directors Guild of America have...

Clint Eastwood's Iconic Last Action Movie Role Has A 96% Score On Rotten Tomatoes
Image
1993 was Clint Eastwood's victory lap year. After winning the Best Picture and Best Director Oscars for "Unforgiven" in March, he would be the toast of Hollywood as he promoted two very different movies: "In the Line of Fire" and "A Perfect World." The latter was the most eagerly anticipated of the two, if only because it would mark his directorial follow-up to "Unforgiven," as well as pair him onscreen with 1990's Best Director winner Kevin Costner.

"In the Line of Fire" was not, on the surface, an odd movie. Directed by Wolfgang Petersen, the celebrated German director of "Das Boot," it was an action-thriller with an irresistible hook. Eastwood had been cast as Frank Horrigan, a long-in-the-tooth Secret Service Agent who finds himself being targeted by a psychopath who plans to kill the President of the United States. Horrigan is no longer on protective detail, and this is for...

"The Shining meets True Grit" when a family's wagon trip toward a better life in the West in 1846 takes a terrifying turn in The Goddamn Tragedy, the new graphic novella from writer Chris Condon (Night People), artist Shawn Kuruneru (Cave Grave), and letterer Shawn Lee (The Moon is Following Us). Clint Eastwood Once Eyed Tom Cruise for His Musical That Ended up With 8 Oscar Nominations
Image
The past two years have seen a sense of finality with both Clint Eastwood and Tom Cruise. While Eastwood directed his final film, Juror #2, at the age of 94 last year, Cruise is reportedly done with his tenure as Ethan Hunt in the Mission: Impossible franchise. Sadly, both Hollywood legends have never collaborated on a film.

However, they almost came close to working on a project that seems unlike both of the action legends. Eastwood was reportedly linked to a remake of the musical drama A Star is Born and was eyeing Cruise to play the lead role. However, it never materialized, and Bradley Cooper finally took the reins and made it his directorial debut.

‘He Was Furious’: Wes Anderson Recalls Clashing With Gene Hackman During One of the Late Actor's Final Films
Image
Acclaimed filmmaker Wes Anderson recalls the uncomfortable end of his time on the set of The Royal Tenenbaums with the late, great Gene Hackman.

Per Entertainment Weekly, Anderson recalled his time working with Hackman, specifically on 2001's The Royal Tenenbaums. "Gene was very annoyed about the money," Anderson said of the star's reaction to the small flat fee offered to the film's cast, which was used in the director's previous work, Rushmore. "He was furious. Also, he didn't want to do the film anyway. I talked him into it - I just didn't go away."

"He gave us a lot. For that small amount of money, I feel like he gave us everything he had," Anderson added. The filmmaker went on to explain that, while Hackman was overtly dedicated to the production on set, he was quick to make an exit once The Royal Tenenbaums wrapped. "Not a word. In fact,...

Lee Sang-il, Stars Detail Grueling Kabuki Journey on Cannes Film ‘Kokuho’: ‘I Could Not Hear Anything Except My Own Heartbeats and Breath’
Image
Director Lee Sang-il’s Kabuki drama “Kokuho,” screening at Cannes Directors’ Fortnight, represents the culmination of a 15-year creative journey, bringing to life a sweeping tale of artistry, rivalry and tradition spanning five decades of Japanese theater.

Set initially in 1964 Nagasaki, the film follows 14-year-old Kikuo who, after his yakuza father’s death, finds himself taken under the wing of a famous Kabuki actor. Alongside the actor’s son Shunsuke, Kikuo dedicates himself to the centuries-old theatrical tradition, with their relationship evolving through decades of performances — from acting school to prestigious stages — against a backdrop of “scandals and glory, brotherhood and betrayals.”

“After the release of my film ‘Villain,’ I started the idea of a film about Kabuki. However, it took 15 years to come out as a film,” Lee tells Variety. The director, known for his 2013 remake of Clint Eastwood’s “Unforgiven” that screened at Venice, credits author Shuichi Yoshida...

Clint Eastwood’s filmography has covered multiple genres, including Westerns, sports dramas, war dramas, and actioners. He has won the Oscar twice for his directorial work, once for the revisionist Western Unforgiven and the second time for the Hilary Swank, Clint Eastwood, and Morgan Freeman starrer Million Dollar Baby.

Million Dollar Baby won four awards at the Oscars and was nominated for a total of six categories. It won Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actress, and Best Supporting Actor. It was also a commercial success, earning $216 million against a $30 million budget. However, Eastwood claimed that it was not easy to mount the project.

The nonagenarian filmmaker and actor has been one of the prolific creatives in Hollywood, with over forty credits as a director. A Yellowstone Star Is The Only Actor Who Ever Dared To Clash With Clint Eastwood
Image
Clint Eastwood is a man of few words -- at least, he tries to be. This is what makes his appearance on the sadly erstwhile television series "Inside the Actors Studio," hosted by the late, great James Lipton, such riveting television. On a talk show where Lipton encouraged interviewees to be open and loquacious, Eastwood often resisted the host's attempts to find parallels between his private and professional life. It's an incredibly good-natured conversation, but Eastwood lets Lipton know when he's ready to move on, or skip altogether, a subject he rather not discuss.

Moving on has been a central theme in Eastwood life. When he was a young man, his father told him, "You either progress or decay," a philosophy the star has long observed as an actor and a director. Eastwood has never had much truck for artistic indulgence. Having honed his craft as a performer over eight...

“Let the hero be this drunken, vicious killer”: Taylor Sheridan Admitted Clint Eastwood’s Influence on Yellowstone Characters
Image
Have you watched Unforgiven? That gritty, Oscar-clad gem of a Western? Yep, the same one Clint Eastwood both directed and starred in, with a razor-sharp script by David Webb Peoples. Now that it’s streaming on Paramount+, there’s no excuse to miss it. Why? Trust us, watching Unforgiven is like holding the skeleton key to Taylor Sheridan’s mind: once you’ve seen it, Yellowstone’s dark heart makes a whole lot more sense.

We all know Sheridan didn’t just reboot the Western genre: he grabbed it by the horns, doused it in bourbon, and dragged it back into morally murky territory. And the blueprint? Unforgiven! From the haunted eyes of John Dutton to the no-holds-barred warpath of Beth, it’s Eastwood’s DNA stitched into every frame.

Clint Eastwood May Have Broken the Western, But Kevin Costner’s 35 Year Old Movie Did Something Better
Image
Clint Eastwood has always reigned over the landscape of American western cinema with an iron fist. His memorable portrayal of earnest cowboys of few words was unrivaled until Kevin Costner made an equally grand entry to spice up the movies from the wild west.

While we are not going into the debate regarding who should be crowned the undisputed king of the Hollywood Westerns, Costner, in Dances With Wolves, did something which even Eastwood’s mystical thespian abilities failed to match. No, we are not talking about who is the better director between the two, but rather we are trying to point out how Costner’s cinematic poetry aided in resuscitating a dying genre by breathing a fresh lease of life.

Kevin Costner revived the Westerns with Dances With Wolves, after the dismal 1980s

For the last century or so, Western cinema charmed a major section of the cinema-goers’ imagination.

I Didn’t See Clint Eastwood’s Greatest Movie Saving Marvel With ‘Thunderbolts*’ Coming True After 15 Years of Bucky
Image
Clint Eastwood is a legendary actor and filmmaker who has been an inspiring presence for many generations of artists after him. The two-time Oscar winner is one of the most prolific filmmakers in the business and the nonagenarian recently directed his apparent final film Juror #2. However, his old classics are still influential.

Sebastian Stan recently credited his performance as a wiser and older Bucky Barnes in the MCU’s Thunderbolts* to Eastwood’s Oscar-winning film. He did not mean that his performance was anywhere near Eastwood’s masterful performance as William Munny in Unforgiven, but he reportedly took inspiration from it.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Almost Played DC's Sgt. Rock – And Then It Fell Apart
Image
Warner Bros. threw the film industry a curveball when it abruptly shut down pre-production on Luca Guadagnino's "Sgt. Rock." The DC Studios production carried a $70 million budget (reasonable for a studio war flick based on a comic book), had attracted a killer cast that included Colin Farrell (who took over the role from Daniel Craig) and Mike Faist and David Jonsson, and was set to shoot this summer. Some felt it was an odd choice for Guadagnino, but he's made a career out of odd choices. I still don't know if I like his earth-tone remake of Dario Argento's "Suspiria," but I respect the audacity. To his maverick credit, Guadagnino's "Sgt. Rock," which got greenlit primarily because DC Studios heads James Gunn and Peter Safran flipped for "Challenger" writer Justin Kuritzkes' screenplay, almost certainly wouldn't have been the "Sgt. Rock" movie I've been clamoring for since the late 1980s.

‘Rust’ Review: Tragedy Hit The Set But Now Alec Baldwin’s Western Hits The Screen – What’s The Verdict?
Image
Rust is certainly one independently made movie that doesn’t need publicity.

The Western starring Alec Baldwin, who also came up with the story and serves as a producer, was hit by tragedy during production in October 2021 when Baldwin’s prop gun discharged during a rehearsal, killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and also injuring director-screenwriter Joel Souza. Production on the film halted immediately and finally resumed in April 2023. Legal cases involving Baldwin and armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, both charged with manslaughter, ended with Baldwin’s case being dismissed and Gutierrez-Reed found guilty.

The events of this tragedy made headlines around the globe and certainly raised doubts that the film itself would be finished, let alone see the light of day. In the end it was decided that to honor Hutchins’ final work the film would be completed, no profits would be shared by the original producers, and Hutchins’ widower Matthew Hutchins would...

Sebastian Stan Reveals Which Beloved Clint Eastwood Western Inspired Thunderbolts* Performance

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Stan discussed the overarching trajectory of his iconic MCU character, Bucky Barnes, better known as the Winter Soldier, as well as how he fits into the Thunderbolts' wider team dynamic. It’s what [his character] Bucky Barnes is essentially, he’s always been trying to figure it out and they are too."

It’s sort of like the older guy that’s been there, done that; so ‘take it from me kid’ kind of thing, that’s where the sense of humor was coming from. "But it’ll be interesting to see how people feel about Bucky this time around."The actor - who has played Bucky Barnes since 2014’s ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ - added it was...

Sebastian Stan Reveals Iconic Clint Eastwood Role Inspired 'Thunderbolts*' Performance
Image
Bucky Barnes is getting too old for the MCU, or at least Sebastian Stan thinks so, as he drew inspiration from an unexpected but relevant film for his performance in Thunderbolts*. You might forget that Sebastian Stan and Bucky Barnes have been a part of the MCU since its infancy, debuting in Captain America: The First Avenger. It was only in The Winter Soldier that Bucky Barnes gained true prominence in the MCU, and the character has since become a mainstay of Marvel's big-screen team-ups, and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier Disney+ series. Given that Bucky Barnes is now a veteran in the MCU, it's only right that Stan drew inspiration from one of the greatest veteran characters in cinema, Clint Eastwood's William Munny from Unforgiven.

Sebastian Stan spoke to The Hollywood Reporter at the premiere of Thunderbolts*. During the short interview, the MCU veteran revealed that the...

Sebastian Stan Channeled Clint Eastwood in ‘Unforgiven’ For ‘Thunderbolts*’: “The Older Guy That’s Been There, Done That”
Image
Thunderbolts* touched down in Los Angeles on Monday night, with stars Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Hannah John-Kamen and Lewis Pullman debuting the latest Marvel project.

The film follows an unconventional team of antiheroes — Yelena Belova, Bucky Barnes, Red Guardian, Ghost, Taskmaster and John Walker — as they come together for a dangerous mission, and is earning strong reviews following a rocky period for the MCU over the past few years.

On the red carpet, Stan told The Hollywood Reporter, “It’s always funny when there’s that dynamic with people like these characters, right, because technically are they villains? Are they heroes or not, where do they stand? It’s what [his character] Bucky Barnes is essentially, he’s always been trying to figure it out and they are too.”

Stan has played the role for nearly 15 years, appearing in a host of Marvel projects including the Captain America films,...

Final Autopsy Report Reveals Gene Hackman’s Wife Passed Away Days Before His Death
Image
Gene Hackman, the legendary tough-guy actor famous for his roles in The French Connection and Unforgiven, enjoyed a peaceful life in Santa Fe with his wife, Betsy Arakawa, a gifted pianist. They lived away from the Hollywood limelight for over 30 years, preferring to keep their personal lives private, until their tragic passing in February.

In February 2025, their private world was shattered in a way that sounds straight out of a movie; there was no happy ending this time. The final autopsy report, recently released, dropped a bombshell: Arakawa died days before Hackman, leaving him alone in their home, possibly unaware of her passing due to his advanced Alzheimer’s.

Gene Hackman Autopsy Reveals ‘Prolonged Fasting’ Before Death
Image
Reading Time: 2 minutes

Two months after Gene Hackman was found dead alongside his wife, Betsy Arakawa, in the couple’s New Mexico home, the results of the screen legend’s autopsy have been made public.

The circumstances of Hackman and Arakawa’s deaths initially had investigators baffled.

They now believe that she died first, and Hackman, who suffered from dementia, wandered the massive home in a state of confusion before passing away himself.

On Monday, the results of Hackman’s final autopsy were made public, and they reveal chilling details of the actor’s final days.

In addition to a “history of congestive heart failure” and “severe chronic hypertensive changes” to his kidneys, medical investigators determined that Hackman had undergone a period of “prolonged fasting.”

An Obscure 2022 Murder Mystery Western Is Killing It On Netflix
Image
We may receive a commission on purchases made from links.

Westerns might have fallen out of favor decades ago, but they never truly died altogether. Even after the genre became reliably unpopular in the 1970s, we still had a trickle of truly great Westerns from 1992's "Unforgiven" to 2010's "True Grit." Heck, there's even been some great Western movies to come out of the last decade. Still, it remains true that the genre's glory days are long behind it.

But in recent years, as Hollywood has discovered that conservatives also watch things and dads everywhere have finally learned how to use streaming services, there's been hints of a modest Western revival. By far the most influential factor at play here is Taylor Sheridan's "Yellowstone" and its various spin-offs, which have proved that Westerns, both neo and traditional, not only maintain a certain appeal, but can be the basis for...

This 34-Year-Old Movie Terrified Robert Downey Jr.
Image
When Robert Downey Jr. was up for the Best Supporting Actor Oscar at the 96th Academy Awards for Oppenheimer, it was his third time getting nominated. He was first nominated for a movie three decades ago for the Best Actor category. He depicted the real-life legend Charlie Chaplin on the screen in Richard Attenborough’s Chaplin.

The film itself was not that great. Not all critics were happy, and the film bombed at the box office. But what none of them could deny was the brilliant performance of Downey Jr. in the titular role. The Iron Man actor shared that he was terrified of the role because of its challenging nature.

Morgan Freeman’s Breakthrough Role Came At 50 – The Story Behind His Grit & Hollywood Glory
Image
Oscar Winner Morgan Freeman Early Career Days(Photo Credit –Facebook)

Every actor has a different story. Some become popular overnight, but some have endured years of struggle to make a mark in the film industry. In the Indian context, for instance, Hrithik Roshan became an instant Bollywood heartthrob after the release of Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai. On the other hand, Nawazuddin Siddiqui struggled for so many years to gain the popularity that he has today. We can call it fate, destiny, or whatever we want, but it’s true.

The Hollywood Actor Who Became a Star At Age 50

Even in Hollywood, a veteran, Oscar-winning actor got his big break as an actor only when he turned fifty years old. We are talking about none other than Morgan Freeman. Whenever we come across his name, we imagine films like ‘The Shawshank Redemption’, ‘Seven’, and ‘Unforgiven’. But these films came much later in his career.

“I get paid to burn money”: Clint Eastwood Didn’t Care How Famous Kevin Costner Was When He Tried to Hinder Their Only Movie Together
Image
Ah, the magic of Hollywood—where the best of the best meet, clash, and sometimes create timeless masterpieces. But even the gods of the silver screen aren’t above locking horns. When Clint Eastwood and Kevin Costner collided on the set of A Perfect World, sparks flew. It’s not your typical behind-the-scenes drama…this was a more subtle clash, a battle of wills, where Eastwood showed why he’s called ‘the man with no compromise’.

But here’s where the rubber meets the road. The tension? It began over one simple scene, where Costner wasn’t quite ready for his moment. Eastwood, the seasoned director, didn’t wait for anyone, especially not for a star who was late to the game. Instead, he did what Eastwood does best: he got the job done his way.

Vince McMahon Did Unspeakable Things With Stephanie McMahon for the Business But 1 WWE Storyline Was Too Much for Him
Image
Over the years, Vince McMahon might have done unspeakable things to his daughter, Stephanie McMahon, for the sake of the business, but Vince once had to intervene in a WWE bout just to save his daughter.

During the love triangle feud between Triple H, Kurt Angle, and Stephanie McMahon in the year 2000, the former main man of WWE had to stop the former Olympic gold medalist Kurt Angle from inflicting any more pain on Stephanie McMahon.

Speaking on his own podcast, Kurt Angle revealed what happened at that year’s Unforgiven and how Vince McMahon had to step in and save his daughter from being seriously injured at the hands of Angle.

John Cena vs Randy Orton Face to Face Stats in WWE Title Match: It’s Obvious Why Triple H Wants Another Match Before Cena Retires
Image
As a WWE fan, there are names that are attached to great matches and great moments. John Cena and Randy Orton are two of them. Their feud has lasted nearly 20 years, which is a substantial piece of wrestling history that displays Cena’s unwavering fire and Orton’s unforgiving disrespect.

Their relationship outside of the wrestling business, as they have been childhood friends, helps elevate their arguments in the squared circle.

The two share something special, as per my feelings. On Monday Night Raw after Wrestlemania 41, Randy took the WWE Universe by surprise with an Rko on Cena. In one moment, Triple H helped revitalize a feud that has been dormant for 11 years now, and it was evident that this storyline is still extremely exciting.

One of the greatest on-screen rivalries

Cena and Orton’s rivalry started in 2005, and as a fan, seeing them trade blows over the WWE Championship was just magic.

Steven Spielberg Loved Clint Eastwood’s $101 Million Film So Much, He Wanted Him in Matt Damon’s Movie About Afterlife
Image
Steven Spielberg and Clint Eastwood are two of the most celebrated filmmakers in Hollywood, who have managed to strike a balance between commercial blockbusters and dramas with substance. The Jurassic Park filmmaker has never worked with Eastwood as an actor, but the two have worked together on the latter’s directorial.

Despite being a producer on two of Eastwood’s most ambitious projects, Flags of Our Fathers and Letters from Iwo Jima, Spielberg reportedly found him to be the perfect fit for the 2010 supernatural film Hereafter only because of his Oscar-winning Western. The Matt Damon starrer saw the actor collaborate with Eastwood for the second time.

Who Plays Sinners' Scene-Stealing Character Delta Slim?
Image
For most actors, stealing a mere fragment of a moment of a scene from an incandescent talent like Denzel Washington would be a career coup. Even when the power dynamic of a scene favors the other actor, Washington is the guy we're going to watch, the puckish, pissed-off ball of energy who refuses to bend the knee or cede a centimeter of ground. Washington wins scenes even when his character loses.

So consider what Delroy Lindo does throughout the first act of Spike Lee's "Malcolm X" to be a tap-dance-on-water miracle. As West Indian Archie, a Harlem numbers kingpin who takes the cocky young Malcolm under his wing, Lindo holds Washington in check. Archie has accrued significant power in a cutthroat realm, and he knows how to wield it. He's a man of stillness and meticulously measured menace. He studies this antsy, ambitious kid with cautious amusement; he clocks his potential,...

After ‘1923’, I’m Convinced Clint Eastwood Would’ve Hated That His Best Work Inspired Taylor Sheridan’s ‘Yellowstone’ Machine
Image
Having binged 1923, it’s hard not to imagine Clint Eastwood raising an eyebrow or maybe even walking out of the room altogether. The standoffs, the brooding cowboys… sure, it’s all there. But somewhere between all the shootouts and drama, Sheridan’s Yellowstone universe turned into something Eastwood might’ve side-eyed.

Eastwood’s legacy was built on lean storytelling and quiet strength. Sheridan’s got power struggles, family feuds, and enough monologues to fill a saloon. Respect to the empire he’s built, but if Eastwood’s no-nonsense Westerns were the blueprint, this franchise feels like the overly dramatic, big-budget remix.

Clint Eastwood’s legacy didn’t ride into Yellowstone; it got trampled by it Clint Eastwood in a still from Unforgiven | Credits: Warner Bros.

“It was the end of the road for me”: Clint Eastwood Knew He Could Never Surpass His Greatest Western That Broke the Genre Forever
Image
Clint Eastwood may have made his last film with Juror No.2, but he leaves behind a large legacy of incredible films. He has explored a wide variety of genres, from thrillers and comedies to war films and sports dramas. He has made several biographical films that have received immense acclaim, but he will forever be associated with the Western.

Eastwood became the cowboy of a generation when he starred in the TV show Rawhide and then in Sergio Leone’s Dollars trilogy. He directed several Westerns, too, exploring various themes and eras in America. However, he bid a small goodbye to the genre with his Oscar-winning revisionist take on the tropes of the genre, with Unforgiven.

“How many actors today would do that?”: Clint Eastwood’s Most Shocking Role Left Steven Spielberg Crying That No One Saw Coming
Image
There aren’t many things that Clint Eastwood cannot do. ‘The Man with No Name’ could shoot the rope flawlessly multiple times to save Tuco. ‘Harry Callahan,’ on the other hand, once hijacked a school bus in something as stifling as a suit and tie combo. Yet, when The Bridges of Madison County premiered in 1995, few expected cinema’s ultimate tough guy to break character and become its most surprising romantic hero.

Well, Eastwood’s emotional range in the movie would do much more than just stun the critics post-release. It was a risk that paid off with a global box office of $182 million against a $22 million budget, plus an Oscar nomination for his co-star Meryl Streep. But what’s even more surprising? According to Streep, The Bridges of Madison County made Steven Spielberg weep “for 40 minutes” straight. Now, that’s no ordinary feat.

A weepy romance in Iowa… made by Dirty Harry?...

In the Line Of Fire: Clint Eastwood’s Last Action Film Was Great
Image
Has there ever been a more iconic big-screen presence than Clint Eastwood? I’d be hard-pressed to name one, as while others like Sean Connery, Harrison Ford, and maybe Humphrey Bogart and John Wayne – if you go old school – can compare, there’s a lot more to Eastwood than anyone else. How so? Well, while most of his contemporaries were happy just to act in their films, Eastwood became the auteur of his work, directing many of his post-The Outlaw Josey Wales vehicles. When he opted to semi-retire from screen acting, he was able to carry on as a director, and in fact, despite being well into his nineties, he’s still directing movies, with his recent Juror No 2 being a little gem.

However, when In the Line of Fire was made in 1993, Eastwood was at something of a crossroads in his career. For the thirty years prior, starting...

“No studio would have made it that way”: Clint Eastwood’s Best Movie Was Almost Directed by ‘The Godfather’ Director and I’m Glad It Didn’t Happen
Image
Clint Eastwood may have retired from directing after Juror No.2, but he leaves behind a lasting legacy that consists of riveting dramas that span genres. Eastwood has been a multiple Oscar-winner, but he won his first for Best Director with the Western drama Unforgiven, which also won Best Picture and got him a Best Actor nomination.

Eastwood’s drama on justice and morality was written by David Webb Peoples. The writer mentioned that the film was roughly the same as the script, and no rewrites were demanded from the Gran Torino star. However, the filmmaker was not the first to get his hands on the script, as almost a decade earlier, Francis Ford Coppola had optioned the rights for it.

The Return
Image
While we wait to see Homer’s Odyssey as a big-budget Christopher Nolan blockbuster, Italian producer-director Uberto Pasolini brings us the low-budget, character-piece version. Rather than trying to mount a vast, effects-packed naval adventure featuring gods and monsters, Pasolini sticks to location-based terra firma, and focuses his narrative on the grizzled protagonist’s homecoming.

The Return opens with Odysseus (Ralph Fiennes) washing up on a beach, and relies on good old-fashioned dialogue and performance to do the dramatic heavy lifting. There’s no reference to Odysseus’ adventures since leaving Troy — no recounted tales of sirens, the cyclops, or divine meddling. Here, we’re on the human level of psychology and emotion, making this a thoroughly modern, if relatively mundane, interpretation.

Ralph Fiennes is unsettlingly compelling as the broken hero.

On one side of the story we have Juliette Binoche as Penelope, Queen of Ithaca, wrestling with a kind of grief...

The Professor X Mistake Marvel Needs To Avoid In Avengers: Doomsday
Image
Now that the cast has been announced for "Avengers: Doomsday," you've gotta wonder if "X-Men: Doomsday" would be the better title. It's not just Doctor Doom making his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in the next "Avengers" film, it's also a certain merry band of mutant heroes. The X-Men are all going to be played by their actors from the 20th Century Fox films, including Sir Patrick Stewart as Professor Charles Xavier.

We should've seen this coming. Every gesture the McU's Multiverse Saga made towards the X-Men brought back the Fox actors. Sir Stewart even played a variant of Xavier in 2022's "Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness." Stewart didn't actually enjoy filming the "Doctor Strange" cameo, but he's back for more! That Xavier wasn't the precise iteration from previous films, but he did quote himself from the movie "X-Men: Days of Future Past."

"The Marvels" similarly ended with Monica...

This 96% Gem Should Have Been Clint Eastwood's Final Western (& You Can Watch It on Paramount+ This Week)
Image
In the 1960s, Clint Eastwood was seen as a quintessential Western actor for films and shows like The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, Rawhide, A Fistful of Dollars, and For a Few Dollars More. But Eastwood’s 1992 film Unforgiven, which he also directed, put the actor on the map as an iconic filmmaker. Unforgiven, which won four Oscars in 1993, will stream on Paramount+ starting April 1.

The film won Eastwood his first Best Director Academy Award and also took home the Best Picture Oscar. Eastwood was nominated for his role in the film, portraying William Munny, a gunfighter known for his history of violence, who is trying to change his ways. The late Gene Hackman took home the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his portrayal of Sheriff “Little” Bill Daggett.

A Box Office Smash

The film was a huge hit, earning nearly $160 million worldwide against its modest budget of $14.4 million.
