Mona: Yes, uh, yes, but I chose to rise above the attitudes of this small town, while you chose to lay spread over a gravestone and take them inside you!
Juanita: Mona!!!

Juanita: Jimmy Dean? Jimmy Dean! Come on back here to the five-and-dime now, Jimmy Dean. Jimmy Dean, you're out here, I know you are.

Stella Mae: Christ, anybody can be happy. Look at me, I laugh my ass off all the damn time. You know, I'll laugh at just about anything.
Edna Louise: You're not happy.
Stella Mae: I'm happy Goddammit!

Stella Mae: You know, I never could stand people who keep sayin' they're gonna go and then they never do.

Joanne: Time is such a nebulous date to wait for.
Mona: And patience, they say, is a virtue.

Joe Qualley: Mona, it was so horrible and I was so damn scared and when I tried to scream for help, they just kept punchin' me in the face! And he kept callin' me Joanne!

Stella Mae: I just love to try an' guess at people from old photographs.

Stella Mae: You look like you done pretty well for yourself.
Joanne: As well as might be expected.

Mona: Jo, why did you have to come back here?
Joanne: I had as much right to return to this reunion as anybody, didn't I?

Juanita: Those awful things you said about my Sidney were lies, and I want you to tell everybody they were lies!
Sissy: Sidney is dead, Jo, so let's just forget it, huh?
Joanne: Gee, Juanita, I thought this night was dedicated to remembering those days... that made us all what we are today.

Juanita: You're just one of them perverts, that's what you are!
Joanne: Well, that's what you always thought I was, Juanita.

Juanita: Believin' is so funny, isn't it? When what you believe in doesn't even know you exist.

Juanita: I wonder what made God turn away from me like that.
Sissy: I just think, um, there's so many people in the world nowadays, it's hard for him to give the personal attention that he used to.

Edna Louise: I had such a very nice time. Thank you all for likin' me and bein' so nice to me although I'm not very smart.

Mona: Prosperity, unfortunately, it's a fleeting thing.

Juanita: He is a sick boy and should be treated before he grows up into a communist.

Juanita: You do far too much messing around. I'm going to ask my Friday Bible Club to devote a prayer session to you.
Sissy: Why dont you pray for them people in China? They need it a hell of a lot more than I do.
Juanita: We were praying for them, but it didn't seem to do much good. Now we pray for rain.

Joanne: De ja vu.

Mona: [upset] Constantly I find... that you tell nothing but lies.

Joe Qualley: It's not his son!
Mona: It is.
Joe Qualley: Mona just because he's dead don't you go killin' me off too!
