This is the only time that all nine original cast members of The Brady Bunch (1969) reunited in a Brady special. There was always at least one hold-out in every other Brady reunion.

When Bobby arrives to the Brady house for the wedding, he briefly runs into the organist. In a 2007 interview with the Television Academy Foundation, Lloyd J. Schwartz said that Mike Lookinland's mother played the organist in the wedding scene.

Robbie Rist was asked to return but he declined to reprise his role as Cousin Oliver for the special although he enjoyed the original series but he didn't return because he wanted to avoid being typecast as Cousin Oliver and he wanted to do other projects and roles.

Maureen McCormick failed to appear on the set one day due to having overdosed on cocaine. Lloyd Schwartz then enacted strict measures, which included taking away her car, to help her get through the rest of the filming.

Robert Reed initially declined to reprise his role of Mike Brady, due to his continuing disillusionment with Sherwood Schwartz, and the franchise. However, upon being told that his role would be recast, Reed immediately recanted, because he couldn't stomach the idea of someone else walking his TV daughters down the aisle for their wedding.
