For years, it was rumored that there were five 'lost' episodes of this series that had never been aired (i.e., that 13 episodes were produced but only 8 were ever aired). This has been categorically refuted by producer/creator Roderick Taylor, as well as by the actors on the show. All confirm that only 8 episodes were ever shot.

Several of Syd Dutton's matte paintings were later reused in the first season of Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987).

At one point of the series, Gina Sterling has a dream of Imar. In this dream can be seen New York City's silhouette at dawn, but with three Twin Towers instead two (Imar has two North Towers, with the antenna clearly visible).

An online article has noted that the fourth episode Rock and Roll Suicide (1985) is the reason this show may never be on DVD or Blu Ray because of the songwriting royalties from bands like The Beatles and The Rolling Stones (and Bad Company and David Bowie as well), which are sung by Sterling family in this episode.

During the opening titles, some images of Imar, Thel's capital, can be seen briefly. The images are negative pictures of New York City (the Twin Towers can be appreciated in the distance as well as Brooklyn's Bridge).
