Grant Page accepts the Screen Nsw Award from George Miller..

Screen Nsw has gifted its inaugural annual award to legendary stuntman Grant Page, who has coordinated stunts for the likes of Mel Gibson and Jackie Chan.

Page was presented the $10,000 award, designed to .honour an individual to whom both screen audiences and the industry owe a significant debt., by George Miller. The director first worked with Page on the original Mad Max, as well as Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome.

Australia.s independent cinemas should band together to share the costs of collecting data on their customers which will enable the indies to compete more effectively with the major chains.

That.s the key message which Movio CEO William Palmer will deliver at the Independent Cinemas Association of Australia conference being staged in Sydney on April 29 and 30.

The New Zealand-based Movio runs the data for the loyalty programs and concession sales at Village Cinemas, Event Cinemas, Hoyts, Palace, Rialto and Ace Cinemas, tracking the moviegoing habits and demographic profiles of 5.2 million people.

It was recently made known that Criterion was working on a new Blu-ray/DVD release of Gojira (1954), but there have been some very exciting developments regarding the Us version titled Godzilla, King of the Monsters! (1956). A rare unedited print of the Us version has been found and should be included with Gojira on the Criterion release.
