So much potential taken from the fans

A young Mark playing a maniac. Makes me wonder what he could have done with the Joker character in real life. The film is fine. I only watched this for Mark tbh and his performance did not disappoint at all. He is eerie, unstable and not charming at all! If only he was cast in more and bigger films. I truly believe Hollywood robbed us of a great actor. The film starts quite unsettling and you're right in the middle of the story. It's entertaining but not great. The reason I gave it a 9 is purely for Mark's performance! He's amazing in it!!!

Great performance by Mark Hamill

Mark Hamill plays a young man who's father abandoned him as a child and he has always focused his hate on a country singer played by real life singer Jimmy Dean. He actually thinks Dean is his REAL father. Hamill tracks Dean down and tries to kill him. Meanwhile, Robert Forster and Don Johnson are the cops hot on his trail. This is one of many 70s TV appearances by Hamill and one of his best performances. It's hard to say if he filmed this movie before or after Star Wars since they came out at around the same time. This movie was supposedly the pilot for Quinn Martin's Tales of the Unexpected TV series. The theme music was different but William Conrad's narration was used. This narration definitely added a certain quality to the series.

Excellent job by Mark Hamill

I tuned into this one night when I was channel surfing and took about twenty minutes to decide for sure that this was, indeed, Mark Hamill. I was extremely impressed. This character was as far from Luke Skywalker as you could get and stay in the same galaxy. Never have seen the entire movie, can't say as how I was really impressed with it, but I will never forget Mark's performance here. After about twenty minutes I was ready to climb through the screen so I could catch him myself!! Way to go, Mark!!

Boy 1: We ain't scared of you.
Eugene Banks: Well, there's no reason to be. of course there's no reason to hurt them ducks either unless of course they were hurtin' you, now did they?
Boy 1: How could they?
Eugene Banks: You don't think they could, do you?
[laughs]
Eugene Banks: Oh, God. Boy, howdy. I'll tell ya somthin', I bet they could be just the meanest things ya ever tangled with, ya get their necks bent bout' somthin', like, uh that hen over there, ya know? try an take her away from her. The nests she settin' are string of little ones that she's leadin' around. Boy, you're liable to lose your finger I'll tell ya somethin'. Cause I used to raise em'. Boy they good ol' birds.
[Eugene turns back to the boys]
