According to his then-girlfriend, this was the Gregory Peck movie that Bob Dylan was "standing in line in the rain" to watch that he details in his epic narrative ballad 'Brownsville Girl'. As recounted in the song, this film made Dylan think of Peck's classic Western, 'The Gunfighter' - "the dyin' gunfighter lay in the sun and gasped for his last breath...". When Dylan was being awarded The Dorothy and Lillian Gish Prize in 1997 at the Kennedy Center Honors Ceremony, Peck made mention of the song and its connection to his film.
