Per an article on the Turner Classic Movies website about this film, the role of "Aunt Martha" was intended for Mary Astor.
Originally titled "Blood Relations," MGM head James T. Aubrey changed the title to "Private Parts." This rendered the title unprintable in many newspapers, although some altered the title to "Private Arts."
