The initial budget for the film was half a million dollars but by the time it was completed it was reputed to have cost $1 and a 1/2 million and many in Hollywood expected it to flop however on it's firs release it grossed over $8 and a 1/2 million and seen by 20 million people in the first 3 months.

When the film was released in Britain it was given an A certificate which meant that children under 16 couldn't see it without an adult, This was because the censor thought that it was too frightening for children even after some scenes had been shortend.

A star with Snow White's name on it has been placed on Hollywood's Walk of Fame, the first animated character to be so honoured.

In the 90's a rose named Snow White Rose was exhibited at the Chelsea Flower Show,
