फीचर्ड रिव्यू
This rarely seen 1939 film stars a very young Glenn Ford, Richard Conte (appearing as Nick Conte) and Jean Rogers. It is mediocre if not far fetched at best. A bored young NYC clerk buys a 20 acre farm in Arizona to escape the rat race of the big city. He sets out west and meets a cadre of characters along the way, mostly on freight trains where they illegally live temporarily until caught by railway officials. Ford meets Rogers, an illegal immigrant who is trying to go west as well to find her family. Through a host of convoluted plot tricks, Ford is forced to marry Rogers in order to evade prosecution from the law. Ford finally reaches his destination and I'll stop there. This picture is a classic B/C movie, but it is mildly entertaining if you buy into all the unlikely aspects that drive 'Heaven with a Barbed Wire Fence'.
