The Cohens and the Kellys in Paris

I saw this years ago at a silent movie theater in Michigan and they had an organ player providing the sound. I remember the movie being lots of fun. It was directed by William "One Shot" Beaudine, who had a long and varied career. He started out an important director, directing the legendary Mary Pickford in the classic Sparrows. He is mainly loved by fans of B movies for directing many low budget comedy, crime and horror films of the 40's starring the likes of Charlie Chan, Bela Lugosi and the Bowery Boys. This movie stars the beautiful Gertrude Astor, who appeared in an incrediblle amount of movies. I actually saw her in 3 different silent movies at the silent movie festival that I saw this movie at. She was very attractive and played leading ladies until she grew older, and then switched to playing mothers and grandmothers.

This movie is about the different stereotypes of the jews & irish. I haven't seen this movie for many years and I have forgotten most of the film. I do remember the highlite of the film being a scene involving a pair of apache dancers. The movie was lots of fun and I remember everyone at the theater enjoyed it. The print I saw was restored by a major museum and looked great. I have never seen this title available commercially on film, video tape or DVD. This is the only title of the series that I have seen, and I don't know if any of the other titles exist today. Please check this title out if you are a fan of lite comedies from the silent era.
