The protagonist was never written to be a female role, but after Seanna Ladd auditioned the directors Oscar Sanchez and J.R. Curtis decided to change it.

Filmed in 18 degree weather inside snowy woods, the cast and crew went through nearly 6 bulk packages of hand warmers and several bundles of firewood.

The interrogation scene is filmed inside an abandoned church first built in the late 1800s, now being remodeled into the new hope community center, the decrepit and creepy basement served as the perfect backdrop.

For the lawnmower scene, the sounds heard in the film were captured by director J.R. Curtis at his day job in a grocery store meat department, some of the sounds are a sausage grinder, a chicken tenderizer, and a band saw cutting through cow bones.
