Shotgun Wedding

Shotgun Wedding left us shaking our heads, in a good way.

It's a funny movie, in a violent, bizarre, challenged relationship kind of way. LOL

What starts out looking like a dream couple at a dream destination wedding turns into one of the biggest FUBARs I've seen since The Hangover.

Before the ceremony, the bride (Jennifer Lopez) melts down, the groom (Josh Duhamel) goes into panic mode, the wedding guests begin a frenzy of worry ... and that's all before the pirates show up to demand a ransom!

What follows is the most bizarre Die Hard kind of story you can't imagine. With the bride and groom stumbling all over the island and themselves and eliminating pirates one by one.

Hilarious.

Starts off a little meh. It has a generic rom com feel (but with a great cast). But if you can make it past those first 20 minutes, it turns into a fun action comedy.

The Bride and Groom have to take out a band of pirates. And it's an amusing premise. A couple of standout moments were the kitchen & helicopter scenes. There is also a few good 'set up and pay off' scenarios that happened throughout the movie.

There was even a couple of interesting twists. I didn't see the first one coming, but I thought the 2nd one would be cool if it happened - and then it did haha... But it was still good to see it play out.

Overall, a satisfying watch. I'd give it a 6.5/10.

I don't get why all these new movies get so many 1/10 reviews. Like really, a 1 for this? The worst you've ever seen? It's like people forget Caddyshack 2 exists.

What kind of movie were people expecting from something titled, "Shotgun Wedding," anyway?! It's supposed to be stupidly funny, which it is. J-Lo isn't even bad, so everyone needs to relax. Her and Josh are pretty damn funny together. Lighten up, people!

Of course this wasn't the best comedy, but it was hilarious and entertaining... which I'm pretty sure was the goal! So if you just want to laugh and don't want anything serious, this is your flick!

I was putting something light rom-com for fun and honestly I quite enjoyed it and nowhere near bad. This isn't a great film but it is really fun to watch. The writing is good enough though some jokes fall flat.

The positive aspect of the film must definitely be the cast. You can tell they were having fun with it as well. Also the cinematography and editing was a big plus as well. Jennifer Lopez absolutely stole the whole show along with Josh Duhamel. Both were pretty good with their roles. Though there were some flat jokes, it was pretty funny and entertaining.

I was looking for a light hearted action comedy, and I'm glad I got stumbled upon this even though it was flawed. Entertaining watch.

The story is predictable and not engaging; the numerous plot twists found throughout this film are just lame, incoherent and incomprehensible; and Jennifer Lopez showed us yet another of those damsels in distress who scream too much before ending up becoming badass.

But luckily, it compensates with being very funny, mocking some of the usual rom-com/action clichés and having some good (if not great) performances, especially that of Jennifer Coolidge as the groom's mother, who was just hilarious.

So overall, it's a decent movie, not horrible nor good. I had fun watching it, but not to rewatch it.
