The Counterfeit Kid

This one really hits the necessary thresholds for a great movie imo: Keeps you interested, well paced, beautiful cinematography, not overbearing, and well directed. The film has some edge to it which is surprising from an indy family-friendly movie. Like other great romances like Han and Leia, Jack Burton and Gracie Law, Westley and Buttercup, and even Ash and Sheila, Jack and Olivia are a fun couple to cheer for. The beauty of Wyoming and Utah are jaw dropping to say the least, and the film crew did a fabulous job with the set/wardrobe/script. The score and the acting are a perfect pairing. One of the best parts of the movie are the comedic genius and family friendly humor. Take a chance on this one! It's worth it.

Come for the beautiful Wyoming vistas, stay for the hilarious script, fantastic actors, and outstanding direction. Chaco is a standout and Flatface is the best scene stealer. I enjoyed every second of it. Beyond the above, the original score takes the film to the next level. It felt familiar and comforting while being new and fresh and exciting at the same time. Being from Wyoming I appreciated this exhibiting our great state in all its glory rather than filming in other locations masquerading as Wyoming. More movies need to take advantage of what the Cowboy State has to offer. I can't wait to show the rest of my family this movie-bonus that it's family friendly!

Creative movie that will make you laugh and also want to move to Wyoming for the scenery. The Counterfeit Kid has some very good actors who do a great job delivering a well written script. There is just the right balance of action and comic relief to keep you entertained as you follow the story of Jack aka Bloody Ben Harris. If you've been to Cody, WY or around the Big Horn Mountains, you'll recognize some of the places that were used in the film.

When watching this movie, keep in mind it was literally made with someone's personal budget. The end product is absolutely amazing considering the resources available. Quality soundtrack as well!

Hats off to Matthew Taggart for realizing his idea to make this film!

Six hundred characters really? Well if that's the requirement here goes- I was so happy to finally see a movie that was filmed in beautiful Wyoming . What a wonderful script. Funny, clean and clever. The scenery was beyond gorgeous and I was happy to watch an hour and a half movie instead of the two to three hour so called Hollywood blockbusters of today. No CGI just natural beauty. I loved the casting and freshness of this movie. Bring your kids and grandkids. It is not a dead serious western but more of a love story with lots of humor. I hope to see many more films that leave me smiling when I leave the theater.

What great fun!! Beautiful scenery and soundtrack! Wonderful family friendly movie with a good moral. Chaco character stole the show but Jack/Bloody Ben was nice to look at. Being from Wyoming I connected with so much of the locations and scenery. The fall colors are just beautiful.

The music was top notch for an Indie movie as well. The orchestration was just lovely and I especially loved when it corresponded to each character such as when Chaco appears you get his "theme", which is a Spanish guitar.

Costuming was also on point for the time period of the film. Just an all around wonderful film for the whole family!
