Good family movie and enjoy it for most part... the way they portray oil industry is a down right joke...
Black smoke from flare stacks, oil spewing out of the ground... that's just not how it goes. Especially in America where strict epa rules that have to be followed.
I know it's a kids movie but I feel it's a bit ironic and people are pushing there "green" agenda behind this movie.

The animation in this film, along with the character models that are used, are surprisingly good, the backgrounds are very detailed. And fit right into the theme of the film with the use of color. The music was good. The story, tho, is predicable as it gets, the film tries to promote an environmental message - which is good, but the fact that the whole plot revolves around that, takes away the fun and makes the whole thing a bit in-your-face. The characters are cliched but they got certain personalities that makes them stand out a bit. and seems have some kinda powers, it's odd but it's cool. But I found the whole talking animals to be way overdone in animated movies. It's so formulaic, it's about time they found something new to do. And them (the animals) messing around the house made me uncomfortable. That said, I found them to be a little funny in the later parts of the movie. They weren't crucial to the plot but they were fun. The big foot was a peculiar character and there's something off about his personality, that I can't get my head around. The villain is a generic bad guy with evil motives. Some of his lines, as well as the subvillain's did make me chuckle a bit tho. Overall, a decent animation with standard characters and story but is mildy entertaining.
Well, if you enjoyed the 2017 animated movie "The Son of Bigfoot", then you will definitely also enjoy the 2020 animated movie "Bigfoot Family". Trust me on that one.
I found the 2020 animated movie to be every bit as entertaining as the 2017 predecessor. And while they were very different in contents, they proved to be equally enjoyable and entertaining.
The storyline in "Bigfoot Family" is more wide-spreading in comparison to the 2017 storyline, and it does tell a story about something that raises a thought or two once the story is finished and the end credits are rolling. "Bigfoot Family" is centered around an environmental awareness-based story, for better or worse. Sure, some might see it as propaganda I suppose, but come on, this is an animated movie meant for entertainment. Sure, it planted a seed or two in my consciousness after having seen the movie, but for me it was hardly propaganda.
The art style used in "Bigfoot Family" is the same as used in "The Son of Bigfoot", so if you enjoyed it back in 2017, you have something to look forward to with this 2020 animated movie.
As an animated movie, having a proper voice cast to deliver the dialogue and bring the characters to life is rather important. And I will say that they definitely had a good ensemble of casted performers to do just that in "Bigfoot Family". I thoroughly enjoyed the raccoon and the bear characters, because they were just hilarious, and actually carried much of the movie for me.
I was genuinely entertained by "Bigfoot Family" and I can warmly recommend that you take the time to sit down and watch it, especially if you have children. It proved to be a fun movie, and my rating of "Bigfoot Family" is a six out of ten stars. While it was good, it was not a contender for being among the best of animated movies to make it out of 2020.

Amazing Graphics and highly detailed. Even though this plot has been kinda played out they at least made it entertaining & fun. My only wish was they picked another voice actor for the son. It didn't seem to fit him entirely & was somewhat distracting.

Nothing but political agendas, southern stereotypes, and brainwashing attempts. It was the film maker's sneaky way of offering his opinion of oil fracking. Our kids are not here for you to try to influence them. This movie just teaches kids false information to hate the oil and gas industry when its actually essential for every day life.
All of the brain-dead and repetitive *PANS* in the reviews are obvious paid plants by the oil industry. There's scarcely an honest review amongst them. If you are looking here for a genuine write-up to help you decide whether to watch this movie, pay no attention to them. I could say a million things about this, but my main message is: This is a really fun movie, and beautifully done. A total winner. Unless you're in the oil business. (And if you are, go **** yourself.)
I hope my daughter doesn't ask to watch this one again and again... and again because this is not that kind of movie. It was entertaining for the first run through. But it is a filler, something to fill in the gaps between the time really awesome kids movies come out (looking at you Big Hero 6).
The movie centers around Big Foot and his family. He goes up against BIG OIL and the results are... predictable. There is nothing that will surprise you but I find some entertainment when my kid is being entertained so there is something here worth watching. Just don't expect much.

Once again starting with the sequel, this time without realizing it... Very cute, colorful graphics, captivating characters, and several critical analogies, diversity, whether cultural or sexual, the exploitation of the environment by large companies, excessive ambition, environmental degradation, and the makeup on the real damage that excessive extraction causes, finally they could have added the importance of clean energy such as wind and solar... A cute little drama between father and son...
A father uses his fame to fight an Alaskan oil company, but when he disappears, his son, mother, a raccoon and a bear are on a mission to rescue him.

The clichéd anti-oil agenda ruined the movie. Just too obvious and a really bad movie. A total waste of my Friday movie time with the grandkids.

Me and my son watched this straight after The Son of Bigfoot and it did not disappoint. A great story where the son thinks at the start that one person cannot make a difference in the world only to later prove himself wrong.
So many unfair negative ratings about inaccuracies and propaganda, clearly overthinking what this film represents, its not about franking or propaganda as it is just a fun film in the same sense that Ratatouille is not a film about poor hygiene standards in restaurant's as they all have vermin.
Majority of films are factually inaccurate which is the point of them. They are a break from reality to just be enjoyed.

It's certainly not the worst, But definitely not the best. Some of the voice acting lacked life, the story was good, and the animation was awesome.
Overall decent.

Decent watch at best, won't watch again, and can't really recommend.
While very stylized, the animation quality is excellent, but between Bigfoot having magic powers, having passed them to his son, the wife not being able to speak to animals (thus being left out of half their life), the weirdness of Bigfoot being an absent father, and the better movie that we skipped, there is a lot to be desired, very early in the movie.
I had hoped that the bigger plot would out weigh all the negative nuances, but it just didn't happen.
It's also a weird contrast of child focused presentation with an very extended murder plot: there's a corporations are earth murderers message that hits the audience like a frying pan, and it's just not fun enough to cover it. Maybe for young audiences.

The story is incredibly unrealistic, an since it's story driven it taints every aspect of the movie. It tries to ram down an ideology while going so far over the top it's too hard to immerse yourself in the experience. Animation was good, but the movie certainly wasn't entertaining. If they dialed back the anti-energy aspect, got rid of some of the cheesier moments it probably would have been a fine film.

After watching this I finally realize why they usually go after big names to voice cartoons. The voice acting is just bad and having a female actor voice the main character who is a teenage boy is a horrible choice. All that before we get to the anti-oil message of the film. Do people not realize everything oil does? I know they don't but I don't need to see indoctrination coming from a child's cartoon.
My 8 year old found this on Netflix. I was appalled at the agenda and misleading to outright falsehoods portrayed in this "film for kids". Impressionable minds should not watch this. You'll have to deprogram them after allowing them to watch this.

This is a big leap from their previous installment, especially the graphic design. It's obvious considering our technology keeps improving. Lighting is magnificent, story for me is also good, creative and unique.
I'm not usually against save the planet type shows and movies but this was absolutely ignorant. Dropping bombs in holes flooding the land with oil? Bad thing is, which is probably the entire point, this being shown to children which will immediately cause them to believe that this is how we get oil. Using cartoons for children to push someone's personal agenda.
This movie is kinda like eating popcorn with no butter and no salt; its not gonna hurt you, but why would you bother? Bigfoot Family has all the subtlety and charm of a mid 90s "family life" educational special. Its the family movie equivalent of a comedian that explains every joke after they tell it.
Seriously, its just flat. Every single plot point is explicitly explained in the dialogue, all the "jokes" are on the nose. No charm, no timing, no whimsy, no emotion. Several characters nearly died several times and not once did i care either way.
Seriously, don't bother. Just watch Ferngully.

Propaganda that tries to shove an ideology down your throat while attempting to be entertaining. How was it? Not one you allow little minds to watch these decisions shouldn't be made until they are adults. Staying away from facts it introduces a story that's untrue giving children the idea bombs are used in fracking. Way out of this world untrue a d it's all about perception. Enough to make me puke. Animation was good, but the movie certainly wasn't entertaining. If they left out the anti-oil propaganda it may have been a fine film.

This is the first review ive ever posted for a film. I thought Bigfoot Family was really good. Its bustling with really cool animals which the kids will warm to. The story is very good about a mining company fracking in Alaska and Bigfoot and family intervene and try to protect the environment from the damage the mining company is about to cause, with the help of various animals. A really good kids film very current with internet, mobile phones and drones included in the story line. A great film for the kids and a real nice change from Hollywood thank goodness.
