Konkona Sen Sharma and Bhumi Pednekar in Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare (2019)

Follow the story of two cousins, Dolly (played by Konkona Sen Sharma) and Kajal (played by Bhumi Pednekar), as they navigate through the twists and turns life throws at them in this journey to find their place in the world.

Directed by Alankrita Shrivastava, this story introduces us to Dolly, a middle-class working woman with a seemingly perfect family and to her cousin Kajal, yet another girl who has come to the city with the dreams of making something of her life.

Will Dolly be able to keep-up with the pressures of maintaining a picture-perfect life? Will Kajal be able to cross the hurdles her new life, as an independent woman, comes with?

Complete waste of talented actors films want to tell so much but don't convey anything at last too many plots and no result

2 stars because the actors have potential but the story or the lack of it makes for a boring watch.

A bit underwhelming

Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare. 2020. Alankrita Shrivastava

Just like her last film "Lipstick under My Burkha" this one also deals with not so amenably communicated female issues, their inner liberty and their intricacies. But unlike that film where the concerns were interlaced aptly with the screenplay, DKAWCS tries too rigid to fit them in the overall narrative. The film tries to touch on innumerable issues & taboos in the span of 120 minutes which made it fickle in the end. Even after a very talented cast DKAWCS fails to find its voice.

The film just dropped on Netflix.
