Hamonika kozo

Yoshio Kawada graduates form college, quarrels with his father because he cannot make sushi, works as a tour guide, makes up with his father, marries Hisako Yamane. Pretends to marry a geisha as a favor to a hairdresser, and so forth. It's a nonsensical comedy in which the long-suffering lead is confronted with various situations and deals with them badly, with occasional musical interludes: frequently harmonica renditions of "Turkey In The Straw."

There's little about Kawada on the Internet, but there are three recordings of him singing; I suspect he was something like Kay Kyser in the US, although his 34 appearances in movies argues that was actually a seasoned performer. He died in 1957, aged 49 or 50. This movie is a pleasant bit of humorous fluff.
