Was afraid that after The Green Bird, it would all go downhill. But no, this was a solid animation that really tugs at the heart strings. Sure, I wish the animation was better, but I ultimately loved the themes within it.

One of the two best of the year. I wouldn't be surprised if this wis for best animated short!

Luna Chu is one of characters reminding ourselves. And this is the basic motif for see "One small step". For its story. For its symbols. And for the seductive simplicity of it. A film about succes as result of a gorgeous dream.

A young girl lives alone with her father. From birth, she dreams of being an astronaut. She works really hard, but just being above average won't cut it. The metaphor at work here is her father's ability to repair her shoes as she outgrows them. He is not a strong man and the inevitable happens. There is nothing new here, but the story is presented in a lovely, uplifting way.
