TDF Really Works

Comparing this to the rest of Ari Asters filmography, I can see why this is hated so much. My opinion? Yeah it was something, if maybe a bit underwhelming. I just thought hearing a dick fart would of been cooler.

Of course we can always wonder what it means really do I have to tdf really to with the ring and everything and it's a great original thing and then we see of course all those great things that allows prohibited but you had what can we say what can we do it is the way it is and because of this we see these beautiful things which are not allowed in Islam button received in the movie and then of course we say this is a bit special and because it is a bit special we can read it like this movie inshallah

THESE THREE MINUTES WERE MORE TRAUMATIC THAN ALMOST TWO HOURS OF BRANDON CRONENBERG'S POSSESSOR.

I'M GONNA GO START PLANNING MY FUNERAL NOW.

Needless to say, the humor of Ari Aster's "TDF Really Works" is juvenile. In all honesty, it felt nothing short of a bad YouTube skit. The best thing I can say about this short is that I laughed a little, though some of that was due to cringe. To think that this was released after "The Strange Thing about the Johnsons" is mind boggling.

Rating: F+, horrible.

Against my better judgment, I found TDF Really Works funny. It's an infomercial for a fake product and I'm not sure I can describe it in a review without making the review inappropriate. It's definitely all shock humor, and pretty tacky overall. I don't think this deserved to be found funny, but I laughed a couple of times and it's less than three minutes long, so I can't in good conscience give something that's supposed to be funny a bad score if it did that.

If there was anything Ari Aster made that he might be embarrassed about today, I'd wager it would be TDF Really Works. But given it really feels more like an online sketch/skit rather than a short film (and it's considerably shorter than his other short films, as a result), it may not even count as a short film of his by some metrics.
