Completely enjoyable

It's not an absolute masterpiece of Juan Jose Campanella, but is indeed a good movie. The actors make a remarkable performance and the direction is really good too.

It reminds so many things. The old plays about murders, the value of past, the clash between worlds and the force of oldness. And it makes that in admirable manner. So, just a delightful film, for beautiful performances, for seductive dialogues, for easy predictability and , no doubts, for the end.

A story we all know

An actress remembers her glory days while she meets a mysterious fan couple that accidentely stops by on her house. The first half of the movie gives a very intriguing premise with solid performances, as a drama works perfectly, as a comedy fails with very forced and unnefective jokes. The problem of the movie is that once you start solving the puzzle, the story feels very stupid and ridiculous (specially the twist) to force a predictable ending. I give it a 5 because of its very strong acting that made the movie watchable.

Worth watching if you like black humour

It is a remake of "Los muchachos de antes no usaban arsénico". Although the film offers some remarkable performances by all the leading actors, dialogues leave much to be desired for they are too grandiloquent, instructive, and invariably end up in a punch line. Characters seem to be English aristocrats flaunting their wit. Besides, seldom would one encounter in real life six cynical characters who are so much alike. An interesting fact is that the film was shot in Guerrero castle. That said, the film is overall very entertaining and, therefore, worth watching.

Funny and satisfying

This should have been on the big screen (blast you COVID!) but I loved this even on a computer screen. Who doesn't love a movie where the bad guys get their just deserts? I usually can't stand films about films but this was so beautifully written and acted. A lot of fun.

When Martín plays pool, the last hit is visibly difficult. The shot is cut, but the camera does not move. The actors are motionless, but the audience is never shown the moment where the 8-ball is hit - only the ball that is going to hit the 8-ball, then the 8-ball moving to a pocket.
