Sam's Firecracker

Full disclosure: I play Sam's Dad in this film.

However, as an actor in this project, It's easy to set myself outside of the experience and related everything I appreciate about this film's structure, script, and message. Aelita Archbold did a lovely job in directing and producing this project. She also assembled a top-notch cast, pulled mostly from experienced actors in the Chicago theater and film communities. And the result is a well-done piece that honors veterans as well as family. The script was clear in its intent to show some of the aspects of PTSD, including its effects on a family, while also showing the ongoing affection vets often have for one another. All this and a perfect ending too. Recommended.
