I have to say, this film let me down. The actors all did a decent job, but the script is fatally weak, with no real conflict in any of the stories, very stiff and exposition-heavy dialogue, self-indulgent navel-gazing, simplistic characters, inconsistent characterization, awkward self-awareness, and a lot of telling instead of showing. Do not recommend.

I cannot believe I actually spent the money to come see this program... what a waste of time. This man clearly had no idea what he was doing. I think my children could make a better movie on their iphone with their friends.

Rendezvous in Chicago had four stars from the only review I could find, so I got it... what a disappointment. Screenplays for these three vignettes corresponding to the beginning, middle and end stages of a relationship were all around the place! Put together with no connection, almost thrown without any care! Acting bad, directing mediocre, screenplay bad, camera shaky, editing not to bad, music boring... Shot in 8 days on a budget of $20,000 - no wonder!

I caught the Chicago premiere of Michael Smiths "Rendezvous in Chicago," Well written and beautifully filmed. Worth checking out if you haven't yet.

If this was supposed to represent the beginning, middle and end stages of relationships, it was poorly told . Unconvincing dialogue from start to end.

Loved the focus on story instead of heavy action, it's really more of a thinking person's film as opposed to those wanting heavy comic book-like stimulation. The characters were consistent with people who most individuals already know, making them relatable and therefore people you want to root for. The script was fun, breezy and a great love letter to Chicago and relationships.
