If you like The Protector or want a similar tone of a fierce group traversing through Istanbul on a quest for something...check it out!
It starts off slow, picks up a little bit then leaves you wanting to know so much more that it doesn't deliver! Huge disappointment but an enjoyable journey. Sure, the women are probably unrealistically beautiful but they add to the sexiness of a modern interpretation of vampires that you find these days, no big deal. Pure, sexy, evil ones just out to get the job done, no extra sparkles or heavy romance.
One particular feature you'll notice is that the show almost entirely showcases Istanbul at night...the grungy, trashy underworld of alleys, thugs and no tourist sights. However Americanized or inauthentic it seems to be, it's a depiction that really shines through the darkness, so to speak, and fuels the vengeful vibe of the plot.
I'm always drawn to a stylized story, flaws and all, with hotties on a hunt. Check it out if you want the usual bloodiness and a cultural twist on a vampire tale. Plus, if you speak or study any Turkish, you'll learn plenty of bad words and vulgarities, so just enjoy it!

I found it boring. I watched up to 3rd or 4th episode and bailed. The big baddie was too juvenile and cocky to make a credible bad guy. Some redeeming qualities include the well played character who was enamoured of vampires. I got a bit tired of the punk trope for the good guys, but I get that it's part of the down trodden neighbourhood. I did not find i worthwhile because the series was taking too much time not only moving the understandable parts of the story along, but also filling in the back story with explanation rather than filler.
Yeap, dispite the potentially interesting story setting and a backdrop of east-meets-west Istanbul, every character in the series is a plot hole. EVERYONE! I can see the main actors n actress have done well to portrait their characters, but simply put, none of the characters make sense there. The final twist even made me laugh. Female vengeance should be much, much deeper in description.
Come to my senses, it doesn't look like a compelling battle between humans n vams. It's pretty much just a gang fight between 2 underground nightclubs.

It's way premature for me to write any accurate or thorough review of this series, as I've only just now finished episode 4 of 8, but I wanted to put a word in about the cast as well as the dubbing.
The cast appears to do an excellent job, overall. There are a few misses, even a major one such as the leader of the Istanbul vampires, Dimitri, who is far too over-the-top and self-absorbed for my taste, but by-and-large this cast shines through convincingly.
The movie is filmed in their native Turkish language (forgive my ignorance; I have not researched what this language or dialect would be called), and subtitled. Additionally, someone decided to take the time and invest in the expense to have the entire scripts dialogue dubbed in English.
For this being Turkish, it's pretty sold. Wish there was more than just one season.
