Don't go by the high ratings. They appear to be paid or related to the production.
This starts to be something like a horror. But there is absolutely nothing like that. You very soon realize that it is only a case of a missing female. Phew. The script is tiring and the female lead is a master in over acting. Started with something and ended somewhere else.
It's a total miss. Skip it.
This is one of the most pathetic movie I have ever seen. This is a classic example when non-Marathi director makes Marathi movie. It is clear that the director had no sense of the rural life in India. Six people using six different accents in the same village? Potter girl wearing sari on knee level???
Filmmaker tried to add all the masala possible.. Including Horror element, double role, suspense, action, love.. drama.. Everything that you could think of.. And failed miserably..
Torturous acting.. None could build the character that we could relate to.. Especially that police officer lady.. Director tried everything to establish her as a strong woman.. Including unnecessarily speaking English in a village with villagers, smoking, losing child due to job... Ashni and Adhira both being raised up in the same house, one being super intelligent PhD pursuer, and one not able to read and write.. What the hell??????
Last but not least.. They are continuously trying to convince the audience that Indian villages are the worst place for women to live.. People in village side are horrible.. As said earlier, this is what happens when non-Marathi person makes a Marathi movie..
Conclusion: This is most predictable, unrealistic, miserable story.. unrealistic characters those are never found anywhere in the world; and we cannot relate with them... Worst acting.. Representing rural India in the worst way possible..
-10 for this movie..

Absolutely amazing movie...marathi movies need such genre...good acting..good direction and story...
Saavat is a brilliantly engaging film. Built as a thriller, it ultimately transcends the genre. Saurabh Sinha is a sure-handed director with an eye for minute details. His cinematographer fills the frame with many local details that imparts the film a rare scenic quality. Like horror films, thrillers are a genre that make stars not so necessary, but Sinha has a great empathy for performance. He peoples his cast with some superb actors. Smita Tambe is pitch-perfect as the lead investigator. Shwetambari Ghute also shines. But the film's triumph is Shitanshu Sharad, whose sheer presence alights the screen. The debutante's body language and his range of emotions seems to be that of a mature, well-oiled actor and is worth beholding.
The thrill is relentless, the frames are taut, and the story slick. The film isn't just about subsequent killings, but something more. It evokes the feeling of a noir. A neat and clever film.

Its really great movie. Well written and directed. Keeps you on the edge of your seat. A rarity in Indian cinema. It perfectly blends the thrill and mystery at the same time highliting the social eveil and plight of women.
Brilliant Job.
