You don't need CGI and special effects to create gore when the movie is so darkly lit that you can't see what is happening. Good shock value I guess and Ashley looks good in her blood-spattered top. Just skip to these few minutes and be done. Oh and can the main actor be any more annoying? Are people really that annoying?

I love the gore in this film. The music kicked ass. The actors were okay. You can see allot of the technical errors in the edit, the lack of budget and also with the length of the film. But for what the film is trying to be, it works.

HACKSAW is a found footage film which tells the story of a couple who while on a road trip have the misfortune of encountering a mass killer/urban legend.
I am a hardcore horror fan, but even I must admit this movie is really, really bad:
-a confusing and pointless intro that mixes gore with opening credits
-a generic and razor-thin plot that has been done a million times, with nothing original except the useless filler to achieve a runtime of just over an hour
-characters who are BOTH totally unrealistic AND supremely annoying
-a dialogue that is absolutely atrocious. A fav example:
"It will"
"Not"
"It will"
"Not"
"Will"
"Not"
"Will"
"Not"
"Will"
"Not"
...
"Aaaah, Stop it"
-a hamfisted attempt at exposition by means of insertion shots of some lame ass show that has "try hard" written all over it
-heavies who laugh evilly and pointlessly like sesame street villains
-scenes filmed in darkness so we can't tell what is going on
-practical gore effects in such close ups that you can't tell what is what
-logical gaps like a shirt that is all torn and spilling intestines suddenly being neat and undamaged a few minutes later
-mortally wounded extras that just won't the f die
-a supernatural twist so dumb you would think a six-year old thought of it
-the usual horror tropes, except executed execrably
The only positive aspect is the naturalistic acting by the beautiful Cortney Palm, but her cameo in the beginning of the film has no relevance to the rest of the movie and is essentially wasted.
Avoid.

This is a 1 hour film with 6 minutes of opening credits. Remove the pure black scenes, stock footage of the building, and the couple driving around arguing along a highway we are down to 10 minutes of the real plot. I feel it had all the ingredients but mixed in the wrong order the cake came out flat from the oven. The story didn't really make sense at all. Shout out to the paid advertisement by 'duct tape' as it only takes one strip across a woman's body to hold her down. There are these really long scenes with a reporter that take up a third of the film and contribute only one detail to the plot.

Few minutes of pointless gore at the start just to get you interested in watching this 'movie'. And then it goes to 'found footage' of talking about nothing and walking around. Then another two minutes of gore in the end of this one hour flick. Thats about it, lazy effort.

Really wanted to like this movie. Some parts worked but allot didn't, maybe that's from a lack of budget? The bouncing around drove me nuts. Some of the acting felt forced. The opening didn't make sense. The likes, I thought the gore was okay, the stalking parts were okay in the dark I guess. But some shots were too dark you can't see anything. I liked the camera work during the road trip scenes.
I feel there could have been more kills in this movie. Especially for it being a low low low budget film. 10/10???? Really lol I don't think so. The movie has heart you can see that. Just feels like something is missing. Idk. Give it a shot though if you like zero budget films.

WARNING! This movie is not for those with weak constitutions!!!
Here's the way it is: if you're the kind of person who needs CGI and multimillion dollar effects and production in order to enjoy movies - you're probably not into gore movies anyways.
The rest of you will enjoy Hacksaw! The cast and crew put as much blood, sweat, and tears into making this blood curdling indie horror film as the horrifying characters did killing everyone!

Absolutely love Hacksaw! Director Anthony Leone shows the appreciation and love for the genre. Hacksaw has the grit and appeal of classic 70's and 80's horror flicks and the gore is top notch practical FX no CGI in this one whatsoever! Star of the film Amy Cay nailed it! She's in the running for one of the next scream queens for sure. Its a low budget, independently made small crew film that isn't trying to be something its not. Check it out right now!
Great movie. This movie gives me a old school slasher, grind house feel. If you want gore and blood, this is the film. This film does not hold anything back. I definitely want to see what this team can do with a budget. Great film guys. Can't wait for the next one!!! 2021

This film had the vibes of the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre. It flows well and keeps you at the edge of your seat.

A throwback to the old slasher films from the 80s. I look forward to seeing another installment to this new story. The gore was cool in the beginning and ending of the film. I do however wish the film could have been a little bit longer, felt a little too rushes to get everything done. I liked the lead actress and the creepy character, "Happy".
