David Gilmour Live at Pompeii

Simple Brilliant, what more can be said. I got the Deluxe edition with 2 discs and 2 CD discs. Well worth the money. The extras are very good on this set and worth having. I agree with verjan2 The concert is Awesome - breathtaking - stunning. The CD's are worthwhile as you can listen on the move. excellent sound quality on the BluRay with DTS-HD MA 5.1 and LPCM 2.0 on the 2nd BluRay disc

Really well done setup for the initial staging of the concert. so beautiful sun going down, mt vesuvius in the background. great choices of music to get you into the concert. a real tribute to pink Floyd's original band with all the greatness they endowed !! time does change all. very well done !!!! thank you david Gilmour !!

David Gilmour makes it scream whether it's a Gibson with a whammy, a strat, or a beat up telecaster. This guy can WAIL at 70+ years of age, and not only that, sing. It would be a great show for any Pink Floyd fan in any conventional setting, but the fact that this is recorded at Pompeii is maximus head-rushis. The song that REALLY jumped out during the opening numbers was The Great Gig in the Sky, where singer Lucita Jules was truly amazing to watch and hear. Her mouth is so large she looks like a human Pez Dispenser, but the sound coming out of that mouth is something to behold. Her companion, Louise Clare Marshall, also has a great singing voice - although your attention may be focused on her large booty during the entire show. If you have attended many rock concerts, this is pretty much how this one works as do the rest: some questionable stuff with interjections of great stuff building up to the greatest stuff and a mind-boggling light show. As a Pink Floyd fan, I am gonna go ahead and give this film a 9/10 score. I may re- do that score later, as my sound system is far superior than that of my local theater.

He may have hit 70 in 2016 but former Pink Floyd member David Gilmour is still performing and in the Pompeii Amphitheatre, he does the first public performance at the venue since 79 AD.

Gilmour teams up with longtime collaborator Marc Brickman for an audio visual spectacular. Brickman is the maestro of colour and light, what better way to bring his magic to work in the amphitheatre known as the the Spectaculum.

Gilmour performs songs from his solo career as well as from his Pink Floyd days including 'Wish You Were Here' 'Comfortably Numb' and 'One Of These Days.'

Fans of Pink Floyd will lap this up.

Awesome - breathtaking - stunning. DG, maybe the best rock guitarist at present, again proves he is doing the best rock shows ever. Genius loci and déjà vu that will get you into your knees. Bravo, David! And once again: Awesome - breathtaking - stunning, Awesome - breathtaking - stunning.
