''Day and Night'' involves 8 different cases but each somehow related to the real mastermind behind the main case the Guan brothers are working on. Yueming Pan is praised once again due to his outstanding performance of playing the two brothers with personalities that totally differs from each other. With a tense and an absorbing plot along with the superb performances the actors give, this drama is definitely a pleasure to watch.

The story is very interesting, the character is very ingenious, and the most important is that the two twins are played by the same actor, and in the play, the younger brother plays the role of pretending to be older brother. And the actor's excellent performance enables the audience to easily distinguish two brothers from the details of expression, tone, movement and so on, including the younger brother playing the elder brother. The picture, music and color of the whole work are very outstanding, and the logic is very strict. It is worth seeing.

The reason why I went to watch "Day and Night" is that I was somewhat surprised by its rating on Douban which is a Chinese website for people to share opinions for movies and TV series they have seen. After I finished the first episode, I was totally attracted and wanted to know the whole plot. I was amazed by the music, the story line, the color, and the picture. Actually, I think the actor Yueming Pan who performed the two protagonists contributes a lot to the success of "Day and Night". The twins in the story are both acted by him. They have alike looks and dress in alike clothes, yet their characters are opposite. The elder brother is relatively a rational introvert, but the younger brother is quite outgoing. In my opinion, it's a challenge for an actor, since when there are two different characters acted by the same actor appear in a picture simultaneously, it is easier for viewers to find if the actor deals with these two different characters in different ways. Pan makes the twins different by giving them characteristic gestures, different tones, and even distinct eyes. I even wonder if Pan does have a twin brother. All in all, it is an amazing show and it is worth seeing.

For god sake!!!! Who wouldn't love this show?! With a rate 8.9 on IMDB?! Whatever, it is a detective drama talking about a twin, one was the lieutenant of the police and now as a consultant and another is a criminal who is frame by anonymous. Not like those units drama, some of cases will last two or three episodes, but somehow all of them have connections. BTW, the twin is actually acting by one person, who is my favorite actor, Yueming Pan. Really hope he can act more like this!!!!! Chinese TV and Net series aren't known for good quality. Most of them, much like Chinese films, suffer from cheesy plots, flat characters, unprofessional actors, bad audiovisual effects or irrelevant themes. As a result, few of them can get the attention of critics or the audience from other major markets like the US and Europe. And the general Chineses audience too is getting bored by the garbage that they have been fed with.

Under these circumstances, a serie like Day and Night is exactly what the Chinese TV&Net series industry needs in that this serie has overcome all the weakness and flaws that the other Chinese series seem to share: The plots and the subplots are well developed, coherent and full of twists and turns; The leading roles are compelling and played by very professional actors who delivers very well their lines and emotions. Pan Yueming (who plays the Guan brothers) and Wang Longzheng (who plays Captain Zhou Xun) are the kind of actors that Chinese series need more of; The filming, editing and music of this serie is surprisingly good and mature; And most importantly, it has a theme that is relevant to every society and people: brotherhood and good versus evil. Not only does it tell an excellent detective story, but it also gives a full-scale presentation of the modern Chinese law enforcement system (which the Western people know little about), explores certain interesting aspects of the Chinese society and asks meaningful questions about family, loyalty, trust, duty and justice, etc. This is what a serie should do if it wants to appeal to people around the world. Also China deserves more series like this which, in a fascinating way, show the world that China is nothing more and nothing less than a normal country where there is a legal system that works and where good people can get their justice against evil most of the times.

Day and Night has its flaws, of course, but it is no doubt where lies the future of the Chinese TV and Net series industry. I'm looking forward to the response of critics and the audience around the world when it's on Netflix. Please watch it when it's accessible for you.
