Ribenji girl

The main protagonist, a narcissistic, self-absorbed c-word of a woman decides to take revenge on her equally a-holish supposed boyfriend after finding out he is a casanova. Because he is from a rich dynasty, the only way to get back at him is to become prime minister which she proceeds to do. Not only is the story completely retarded, she isn't a likeable character at all, so you basically just wish for her to get hit by a truck and the movie to be over.

If you love Mirai Kiritani, then you'll have to watch this one. It is cute and powerfull at the same time. The politics in this one are subtle and just give this movie a foundation to built the character development on it. The leading lady, moreover, was dislikable at first, but she goes through a major change and we learn that some people weren't who we thought they were at first. Overall, the romance is cute and sweet, as the couple had chemistry, the performances were really good, the story entertaining, though it was cliche packed, and the ending was just okay. So, 8 out of 10.

If u really love kiritani mirei then u have to watch this!! she is soo powerful n cute at the same time in this movie that it will definitely drag u to love her more!! just loved it!!

I like this story very much. The female lead got dumped by her playboy politician boyfriend and takes revenge on him by winning him in election, and eventually becomes a true politician with heart and also found her lover. The story has a very bright tone and is also very motivational. Highly recommended.

When I sat down to watch the 2017 Japanese movie "Revenge Girl" (aka "Ribenji girl"), I must admit that I thought I would be in for more of an entertaining movie that what this movie turned out to be.

First of all, the storyline in the movie was just utter rubbish. It was so far out there that I just couldn't believe in it for even a moment, not even if I tried. I mean, a super shallow and vague woman with the sensitivity of a rock and the compassion towards other people equal to a bottle of poison, running for a prime minister position just to get even with a guy who dumped her. Seriously? Who comes up with this kind of nonsense? I suppose writer Erika Yoshida is the person in this case.

And director Kôichirô Miki wasn't really succeeding in bringing the horrible storyline to life on the screen. And the fact that the characters in the movie were rigid, wooden and completely unlikely was just working well against the movie actually achieving some kind of appeal to the audience.

Sure, the acting performances in the movie were adequate enough, but since the actors and actresses had terrible character to work with, it was just a losing uphill battle.

I managed to sit through about an hour of this approximately two hour long movie. And let me just tell you straight out that I wasn't entertained the least bit. I just gave up at that point, having given the movie several chances to win me over, as I had been tempted to turn it off a couple of times up to that point.

My rating of "Revenge Girl" lands on a mere two out of ten stars, and that is based solely on the production value of the movie. This was a massive swing and a miss of a movie, and it is definitely not a movie that I would recommend you wasting your time, money or effort upon watching.
